    Exhaust

Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Other/unsure

"being returned under NY Lemon Law"

Anonymous, NY (2024 Hyundai Tucson Plug-in Hybrid Limited 1.6-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)

"It got stuck in Drive mode and wouldn't move so we called AAA and he unplugged the battery and then reconnected it and we were able to start the car and move it. It seems the computer just had to be rebooted but we are not sure why it happened in the first place. Oh, maybe we did. I think we pushed the drive button too soon when starting the car but we are not sure so we take our time now and make sure all the dashboard indicators are correct before pushing the Drive button. That's the best I can say now."

    Anonymous A., OR (2024 Hyundai Tucson Plug-in Hybrid 1.6-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)

    Engine Minor

Accessory belts and pulleys, engine computer, engine mounts, engine knock or ping, fuel leaks, oil leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Oil leaks

"Not sure when it started. Went in for the first oil change and they discovered the leak. They had to keep it overnight to fix it but with it being Friday, they keep it until Monday. It was resolved."

Anonymous, OH (2024 Hyundai Tucson Plug-in Hybrid Blue 1.6-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)

"The engine oil pan was leaking on my new vehicle. Apparently the internet seems to agree that Hyundai's 1.6L turbo engines for the hybrids which are assembled in Korea have issue with leaky oil pan RTV gaskets. This seems to have been an issue in the 2022-2024 model years and possibly more. With less than 5000 miles on the car, the dealer initially didn't believe me and tried to claim I either spilled oil or somehow hit something (they saw scratches under the car where I put my jack to inspect the leak before taking it in). They said the "tech wiped the oil off". I waited another 1500 miles, checked again and it was still leaking. This time they removed the oil pan and re-sealed it with new RTV. I haven't checked their work yet."

Reliability indicates how models have performed in the past, providing the basis for predicting how the vehicles will hold up in the year ahead. These charts provide the most comprehensive reliability information available to consumers. Based on information received from our latest subscriber survey for over 300,000 vehicles, our reliability history charts give you a rundown on how 2000 through 2024 vehicles are holding up in 20 potential trouble spots, ranging from the engine, transmission, electric motor, EV charging, and brakes to power equipment and the electrical accessories. NA indicates that we did not receive a large enough sample size to provide data for a specific year. An X indicates that the vehicle was not manufactured for a specific year.
