The Infiniti FX35 delivers a driving experience more reminiscent of a sports sedan than a traditional SUV. Its strong and smooth V6 engine provides very quick acceleration and achieves a respectable 18 mpg overall on premium fuel. The high window line, low driving position and restrained body lean give one the feeling of being in a sporty coupe. But the window line also makes the cabin feel closed in. Further, the tradeoff for the vehicle's agility is a stiff ride that transmits pavement imperfections to the passengers. (Infiniti revised the suspension for 2006.) For some, the vehicle's exhaust note, intended to sound sporty, can become tiring. Additionally, the sloping rear hatch significantly limits cargo space. A rearview camera was made standard equipment for 2008.
