    Introduction
    The M45 occupies a price-and-size gap between the midsized G35 and large Q45. It's a conservatively styled sedan that is based on an aging Nissan model sold in Japan. It competes with the Lexus GS, Acura RL, and Lincoln LS. It shares many of the Q45's components including a gutsy 340-hp V8 that powers the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission. Luxury appointments and high-tech features abound. Climate, audio, and other functions are controlled by a confusing center pod. Although a long car, the interior is notably tight.
