Our tested Grand Cherokee with the 4.7-liter V8 engine was powerful, but its fuel economy is nothing to brag about. Available engines for this model year were a 357-hp, 5.7-liter Hemi V8 and a 210-hp 3.7-liter V6. Over the years, the Grand Cherokee got a better driving position and a more settled ride. While it's a competent off-roader and a good tow vehicle for its class, the rear seat isn't roomy and fit and finish still needed improvement.
