    Climate System

AC compressor, blower (fan) motor, condenser, evaporator, heater system, automatic climate system, electrical failure, refrigerant leakage.

    What Owners Say

    Evaporator

"The evaporator core failed in that the various valves which directed the air to the vents failed, resulting in the need to replace the whole housing."

Anonymous, TX (2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 3.6-L V6)

Anonymous, CO (2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 3.6-L V6)
    Refrigerant leaks

"There has been a refrigerant leak on this car since I bought it in 2018. Every year the refrigerant needs to be replaced to get the A/C system to work. Parts have been replaced and dye has been added every year, but a leak cannot be detected or found by several different repair shops."

Anonymous A., NC (2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 3.6-L V6)

"The air conditioning stopped working and I was told that there was probably a slow leak in the cooling system."

    Steering And Suspension

Shocks or struts, ball joints, tie rods, wheel bearings, alignment, steering linkage (includes rack and pinion), power steering (pumps and hoses, leaks), wheel balance, springs or torsion bars, bushings, electronic or air suspension.

    What Owners Say

    Shocks or struts

"Shocks and struts experienced some wearing, not critical, but intended to replace with another repair for the axles."

Anonymous, TX (2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 3.6-L V6)

"It was in the dealership for 6 months because they said they couldn't find a strut for it. I finally told them to put it together and take it back as is. The strut was physically broken internally but was drivable. One of the service people gave me a bunch of dealer phone numbers that showed the strut in stock. I was told they don't like to buy parts from other dealers because they charge each other full price. After calling about five dealer that showed it in stock but their inventory list was wrong. I did finally find it in Alaska and had it shipped to me and I had my local mechanic install it. Not happy at all with Jeep on this issue. Oh and I did contact Chrysler Customer Service on the issue after about waiting the initial couple months and they looked into it and told me it looked like the dealership was doing what was expected. They could have done right for the customer (me) and make those calls and get my part but they didn't because of greed $$$. Not happy with them at all."

Anonymous A., NH (2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 5.7-L V8)

    Brakes

Premature pad/rotor wear, pulsation or vibration, antilock system, parking brake, master cylinder, calipers, squeaking, brake failure, regenerative braking.

    What Owners Say

    Calipers

"Three times the right rear brake caliper has locked up. I do not drive the car a lot as I am retired but when the vehicle sits unused for 10 to 21 days and it rains there is a good chance the brake caliper will lock up causing a very costly repair bill."

Anonymous A., NC (2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 3.6-L V6)

"The caliper pins get stuck in their rubber boots due to poor design of the grease reservoir. As a result the pads get stuck against the rotor and cook. I have repaired this problem many times, but no matter the grease type of care taken in the repair, the problem returns. Similarly, the pad ears grind into the machined area on which they ride, which creates grooves. Eventually the pads get stuck in the groves and against the rotors, and cook again. The only fix is to use a Dremel tool to grind down the machined area on a routine basis."

Anonymous A., NJ (2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 3.6-L V6)

Reliability indicates how models have performed in the past, providing the basis for predicting how the vehicles will hold up in the year ahead. These charts provide the most comprehensive reliability information available to consumers. Based on information received from our latest subscriber survey for over 300,000 vehicles, our reliability history charts give you a rundown on how 2000 through 2024 vehicles are holding up in 20 potential trouble spots, ranging from the engine, transmission, electric motor, EV charging, and brakes to power equipment and the electrical accessories. NA indicates that we did not receive a large enough sample size to provide data for a specific year. An X indicates that the vehicle was not manufactured for a specific year.
