    Noises And Leaks

Squeaks, rattles, wind noises, seals and/or weather stripping, air and water leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Air or water leaks

"Water draining into the driver's compartment (when the door is opened) is a known issue for soft-top 2018 JL Wranglers. Jeep issued TSB 23-041-21 Rev A on 12/17/21 addressing the issue which included the instructions "If the customer describes the symptom/condition listed above, perform the Repair Procedure." When I identified this issue to my dealership they informed me they would NOT perform the repair without first doing their own "diagnosis" (which they refused to describe) at a cost to me of $175 and that I would have to pre-pay another approximately $185 for parts. They estimated approx 2 hours labor at $130 per hour to perform the work. They could NOT explain why the work was not covered under warranty. With an estimated total of some $620 I did not proceed."

Anonymous, CT (2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)

"Jeep installs poor quality ball joints from the factory. Had to replace them to resolve death wobble issues above 45 mph. Problem started around 65000 miles and progressively got worse. Finally replaced them at 71000 miles because death wobble was occurring daily on the highway when the front end was upset over pavement irregularities."

    Anonymous A., OK (2018 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 3.6-L V6)
    Other steering/suspension problem

"It takes a huge effort to keep the car going straight in the lane. I took it to service many times but they just couldn't figure it out."

    Anonymous A., FL (2018 Jeep Wrangler Sport S 3.6-L V6)

    Paint And Trim

Paint (fading, chalking, peeling, or cracking), loose interior or exterior trim or moldings, rust.

    What Owners Say

    Other paint & trim problem

"Corrosion of door hinges and door skins is a widespread problem affecting Jeep Wranglers 2018 and newer. The root cause has not been formally identified but is generally thought to be related to galvanic corrosion and corrosion resulting from contaminates inadvertently introduced during manufacture of aluminum panels & aluminum/steel door assemblies. Jeep has NOT issued a recall but IS repairing vehicles for owner's who report the problem within the 5 year/50,000 mile corrosion warranty period. Over time Jeep has evolved the process from typical sand/prep/paint to complete replacement of affected panels/components. (As well as painting of the new panels, blending to match or repainting entire vehicle exteriors.) Shortages of replacement hinges, doors, hoods, windshield surrounds, etc. have resulted in significant delays (I notified my dealership in March 2023; I dropped it off May 1, 2024) My dealer has provided a free loaner for the expected 2 week duration of the work. Based on JLWranglerForums dot com forum posts, many owners of repaired vehicles are experiencing corrosion reoccurrence of repaired panels (it is unclear if replaced panels are affected)"

Anonymous, CT (2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)
Paint (fading, chalking, cracking, or peeling)

"Paint corrosion on all four doors and the hood. This has been repair twice under warranty since I bought the Jeep new in 2018. Repaired in 2021 and in 2023. It's now out of warranty and the corrosion will probably return. All door hinges were replaced and the doors were repainted after repairing the corrosion. Aluminum doors still corrode. This is a problem with all new JL model Wranglers."

Anonymous, IN (2018 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 3.6-L V6)
