What Owners Say
"ICCU failures are widely reported for this car, leaves car inoperable without warning while driving. Current recall is just a software upgrade of uncertain benefit, the upgrade requires two dealer visits. Due to risk of sudden ICCU failure my family and I are afraid to drive this car too far from home"
Anonymous, IA (2024 Kia EV6 Wind Electric)"Was meeting on the highway when I heard a pop from the rear. The dash indicated a major electrical malfunction and to get the car to a dealership now or to stop it on the spot. I did have a battery pack that I connected to my 12 volt battery. I was able to drive the car up to about 75 km/h. But acceleration was very leisurely. I covered about 22 km and was able to reach the dealership. Late afternoon so they could not look at the car right away. Finally the next day they confirm that the ICCU unit and fuse were damaged and needed to be replaced. Parts were back ordered so they lent me a replacement car (gas). Took about 3 weeks to get the parts and my car back. Note: I did the recalls about 2-3 months before failure."
Anonymous A., QC (2024 Kia EV6 Wind Electric)""The car kept causing the GFCI breaker for the charger to trip. To prevent this I had to charge at 15A instead of 40A, which was very inconvenient. Since I had the charging system software updated from the recall, this issue only occurred once or twice.""
