We expect the 2025 Soul will have about average reliability when compared to the average new car. This prediction is based on data from 2022, 2023, and 2024 models and the Kia brand score.
The Reliability score is based on our latest subscriber survey of 2022 Kia Soul owners. The owner comments describe problems respondents experienced with this vehicle.
Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.
Premature pad/rotor wear, pulsation or vibration, antilock system, parking brake, master cylinder, calipers, squeaking, brake failure, regenerative braking.
"Rear brakes need to be replaced at 45k miles, as do tires. Nobody has been able to explain why the rear has worn faster than the front."
Anonymous A., AR (2022 Kia Soul Turbo 1.6-L 4 Cyl turbo)Engine rebuild or replacement, cylinder head, head gasket, turbocharger or supercharger, timing chain or belt.
"Turbo failed at 22500 miles, car was kept 3 weeks as the part was not available. Driving it home after the fix, check engine light came on. Spark plugs were then replaced. 3 days later, check engine light came on AGAIN and injectors were replaced. ALso serious maintenance is required often. ie: Coolant flush and change at 30k miles. I love the car when it is running, it is loaded, was a great price and has MORE than enough power. This is my second Soul and had ZERO problems with 100k miles on the first (mid level) model. (2019)"

"Lack of engine immobilizer to deter theft and software roll-out to fix problem is confusing."
