    Road Test

The compact LR2 has the quirkiness and character that appeals to fans of the brand. It is also more pleasant for everyday driving than larger Land Rovers. However, in one of its runs on our emergency-handling test, the LR2 lifted two wheels off of the ground at its handling limits, which is why we rated it poor on this measure. We notified Land Rover, whose rep stated that this was caused by hitting a small traffic cone. While hitting a cone is a common occurrence in this test, very rarely have we seen vehicles tip up. Still, the LR2 is very capable off-road and offers great visibility and easy maneuverability.
