Land Rover Range Rover First Drive
    Introduction
This flagship sport utility pioneered the luxury-SUV trend three decades ago. The redesigned 2003 model comes with a host of high-end amenities and a $72,000 price tag. Developed by former corporate parent BMW and equipped with a BMW-built V8, it delivers smooth, strong acceleration, mechanical refinement, and a very comfortable ride, although handling isn't quite BMW agile. While the steering is responsive, pronounced body roll is evident on winding roads. Now a unibody construction, it also features a fully independent, height-adjustable air-spring suspension and electronic stability control. The seats are very comfortable and the wood and leather interior is in good taste.
