    Introduction
    The Range Rover pioneered the luxury-SUV trend over three decades ago. The current model comes with a host of high-end amenities and safety features. Developed by former-owner BMW and powered by a BMW V8, it delivers smooth, strong acceleration; mechanical refinement; and a very comfortable ride, although handling isn't quite BMW-agile. While the steering is responsive, body roll is evident on winding roads. Even though it's now a unibody construction with a fully-independent suspension, it remains good off-road. The seats are very comfortable, and the wood and leather interior is tasteful. The radio and navigation systems are intertwined and tedious to operate.
