    Electrical Accessories

Cruise control, clock, warning lights, body control module, keyless entry, wiper motor or washer, tire pressure monitor, interior or exterior lights, horn, gauges, 12V power plug, USB ports, alarm or security system, remote engine start, heated or cooled seats, heated steering wheel, headlights, automatic headlights, automatic wipers, wireless charging pad.

    What Owners Say

    12V battery

""The 12volt battery kept discharging- required to be jump started multiple times & dealer replaced the battery twice. Ultimately, Lexus bought out the lease under the Lemon Law""

    Anonymous, DE (2024 Lexus RX Plug-in Hybrid 450h+ 2.5-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)

"The 12V battery discharged due to low usage. The charging system for the traction battery is not sufficient to keep the 12V battery charged, and the 12V battery must have a charge for the car to operate. The car was unusable until we got a charger attached (you can't "jump" this car) and the battery charged enough to operate the electronics in the car."

    Anonymous, CA (2024 Lexus RX Plug-in Hybrid 450h+ 2.5-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)

""It had to be replaced 2x, because the car became totally non-responsive. (could not open doors, etc.)""

    Anonymous, QC (2024 Lexus RX Plug-in Hybrid 450h+ 2.5-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)

"The new 12v battery died. It turns out the car comes with a very low spec battery not enough to support all the electronic systems in it. I had to replace it."

    Anonymous, ON (2024 Lexus RX Plug-in Hybrid 450h+ 2.5-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)

"Battery was defective and replaced by dealer no charge"

    Anonymous, CA (2024 Lexus RX Plug-in Hybrid 450h+ 2.5-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)

""The vehicle does not adequately maintain the charge on the 12 V battery. If you drive it like a normal ICE vehicle, the 12 V battery dies regularly. Im on my third 12 V battery in one year. I added a battery voltage monitor to watch the battery voltage and see when it is being charged. The vehicle only charges the 12 V battery when the vehicle is ON (in PARK) and in READY mode (not ACC mode). It does not charge the battery while you are driving the vehicle. So I must sit in the parked vehicle with it ON and in READY mode for 10 - 15 minutes every day to charge the 12 V battery. This is a major inconvenience and a serious reliability issue with the vehicle. Despite three visits to Lexus Service Departments, they are unable to fix the problem.""

    Anonymous A., NM (2024 Lexus RX Plug-in Hybrid 450h+ 2.5-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)

"Battery died in our driveway. Had to be towed to Lexus dealer to be replaced. No further problems."

    Anonymous, (2024 Lexus RX Plug-in Hybrid 450h+ 2.5-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)

""Car would allow you to open doors to load children into back seat, then battery would be too dead to allow any more access""

    Anonymous, CO (2024 Lexus RX Plug-in Hybrid 450h+ 2.5-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)
    Keyless entry

""We were locked out of our car and had to call roadside assistance. At the same time, sensors indicated that the battery was draining. Problem was traced to main controller. This repair took one week (!) because Lexus delivered the wrong part (unclear whether this was the fault of Lexus or the dealer).""

    Anonymous, MA (2024 Lexus RX Plug-in Hybrid 450h+ 2.5-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)
    Other electrical system problem

"Had to be towed to dealership 5 times with battery dead"

    Anonymous, CO (2024 Lexus RX Plug-in Hybrid 450h+ 2.5-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)

    Exhaust

Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Other/unsure

"12 volt auxiliary battery loses charge on a weekly basis and must be manually charged"

    Anonymous, CA (2024 Lexus RX Plug-in Hybrid 450h+ 2.5-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)

""12V battery would drain, locking me out of car.""

    Anonymous, NY (2024 Lexus RX Plug-in Hybrid 450h+ 2.5-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)

"12v battery failed twice, requiring two replacements. Because of location of battery underfloor of loaded rear storage, car had to be towed first time since we could not raise tailgate to be able to jump car. Car cannot be jumped from engine compartment. Problem repeated with warranty replacement battery. Second battery and install of a Bluetooth battery voltage monitor has fixed problem. Issue is that the car does not charge 12v when traction battery is charging. So if charging car and doors open to vacuum out, raise of lower rear seats, battery quickly drains."

    Anonymous A., GA (2024 Lexus RX Plug-in Hybrid 450h+ 2.5-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)

    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

    What Owners Say

    In-dash navigation system (GPS)

""The google built in navigation is terrible. From time to time it thinks we are in japan and no address in North America is a valid one. It also doesn't save favorites (it forgets them after a few days), it doesn't keep the zoom level or map orientation you set, the interaction with the Lexus App to send address to the car doesn't work properly, etc. etc. etc.""

    Anonymous, ON (2024 Lexus RX Plug-in Hybrid 450h+ 2.5-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)
    Other in-car electronics problem

""Gas gauge does not reflect accurate measure of fuel remaining which affects remaining miles left. With 1/3 tank of gas remaining, the gauge shows empty and zero miles left. It creates significant anxiety on a trip.""

    Anonymous, CA (2024 Lexus RX Plug-in Hybrid 450h+ 2.5-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)

    Brakes

Premature pad/rotor wear, pulsation or vibration, antilock system, parking brake, master cylinder, calipers, squeaking, brake failure, regenerative braking.

    What Owners Say

    Calipers

"Clunking noise when the calipers release."

    Anonymous, ON (2024 Lexus RX Plug-in Hybrid 450h+ 2.5-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)

    Climate System

AC compressor, blower (fan) motor, condenser, evaporator, heater system, automatic climate system, electrical failure, refrigerant leakage.

    What Owners Say

    A/C compressor

"Loud noise emanating from air conditioner compressor necessitated replacement. Repair took three weeks (!) because Lexus was unable to track the part."

    Anonymous, MA (2024 Lexus RX Plug-in Hybrid 450h+ 2.5-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)

    Noises/Leaks

Squeaks, rattles, wind noises, seals and/or weather stripping, air and water leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Other noises & leaks problem

"Due to a pervasive rattling noise coming from the panoramic sunroof, the dealer found it defective and replaced the whole panoramic sunroof assembly under warranty. They tried several things to fix it prior to replacing it that didn't work. I just wish they hadn't damaged my vehicle when the replaced the sunroof assembly. I had to have my passenger door repainted due to a huge perforation in the paint the dealer caused by dropping a tool. The dealer did repaint the door at their own cost."
