The MKZ is a good car, but it doesn’t stand out in the upscale category. On the other hand, its engine is powerful without sacrificing fuel economy and ride quality is both comfortable and quiet. Fit and finish are very good too, but the interior design is reminiscent of 1970s Lincolns, and handling is not sporty. Overall, the MKZ doesn't offer much more substance than the less expensive Fusion and Milan upon which it is based.
In most cases, automotive warranties are based on the vehicle identification number (VIN), and the warranty will be valid regardless of ownership. The dealership can tell you exactly how much warranty is left.

We considered it to be the most appealing and well-executed Lincoln in memory, though the MyLincoln Touch infotainment system is cumbersome to use. We'd opt for the fuel-sipping hybrid, which, unlike many other hybrids, does not carry a price premium. The Reserve Equipment Group includes blind spot monitoring to help with visibility. A rearview camera was added for 2015. A 2017 freshening brought an array of revisions. Most apparent is the new front-end styling with a more pronounced grille. Crucially, the frustrating MyLincoln Touch controls have been replaced with the Sync 3 infotainment system, which is much more intuitive and responsive to use. The 2019 model gets a standard suite of advanced safety features that includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, and lane keeping assistance. 2020 was the final year for the MKZ.
The front-drive Zephyr sedan arrived for 2006, with secure, though not sporty handling. Ride quality is firm, supple, and controlled; but the turning circle is wide. The mid-sized Lincoln’s interior is trimmed in leather and wood, with styling reminiscent of that of past Lincolns. For 2007, an all-wheel-drive version was introduced and the car was renamed MKZ. Stability control was added for 2009. A 2010 freshening saw improvements to the turning circle, better interior materials, and a quieter cabin. The ride is also more supple and controlled. Handling is remarkably responsive. A hybrid arrived in 2011, priced identically to the standard model.
