The Mazda2 is a fun to drive runabout with excellent fuel economy, responsive steering and a usable rear seat -- despite the car's modest dimensions. Models with the automatic transmission can be rather slow. The standard manual transmission's slick shifter contributes to an enjoyable driving experience. Ride comfort and noise levels are tolerable, but the front seats aren't supportive and amenities are sparse.
