    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

    What Owners Say

    Backup or other camera/sensors

"Backup camera was very blurry. Mazda had a recall and fixed the issue with a replacement camera"

Anonymous, NY (2015 Mazda 3 Grand Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)
    Display screen freezes up

"The display screen doesn't freeze up in a convensional manner, but it does have an issue with a "phantom touch". Where the screen senses someone is touching a function on the screen even though it is not being touched. This doesn't allow the actual user to do anything. From other sources, this seems to be a common issue among many Mazdas of the same generation. This issue alone would make me re-think purchasing a mazda in the future unless I knew for certain it was resolved by Mazda."

Anonymous, ON (2015 Mazda 3 Grand Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

"Started 2 years ago. Screen randomly froze about once a week. Apparently a known issue since we found a several YouTube videos with at home fixes for it."

    Anonymous, OR (2015 Mazda 3 Sport 2.0-L 4 Cyl)
    Hardware replacement

"After a number of years of good service the display began acting up, freezing and making random calls on the paired phone etc. expensive replacement but recently followed with a recall and we received some of the cost back."

    Anonymous, DC (2015 Mazda 3 Unsure 2.0-L 4 Cyl)

"Display screen has a crack in the top right corner that seems to have gotten worse over the past two years. The crack makes it difficult to see content in the top right portion of the screen."

    Anonymous A., ON (2015 Mazda 3 Grand Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)
    Heads-up display

"When coming to a stop the screen would start randomly scrolling through all the various information categories while making a very annoying sound."

    Anonymous, AB (2015 Mazda 3 Sport 2.0-L 4 Cyl)
    In-dash navigation system (GPS)

""Built in navigation system became outdated. Installation of a new system was expensive. So I said, no. Navigation system goes blank for first 3 months of every year ever since. I have switched to Ways on my phone. It is better and cheaper.""

    Anonymous A., NJ (2015 Mazda 3 Touring 2.0-L 4 Cyl)

    Phone pairing (e.g., Bluetooth)

Anonymous, NY (2015 Mazda 3 Grand Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

""Started this past year. Phone pairs but you cannot hear well, everything sounds garbled.""

    Anonymous, MD (2015 Mazda 3 Unsure 2.5-L 4 Cyl)
    Speakers

"The front door Bose speakers are known to prematurly fail. I own a 2015 Mazda 3 and a 2017 Mazda 6 and both speakers have failed on the driver side door. By fail I mean they have a tear and now they buzz when there is bass in the audio."

Anonymous, ON (2015 Mazda 3 Grand Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

Anonymous, TX (2015 Mazda 3 Grand Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)
    Muffler

"My car was sounding loud from the exhaust area of the car. It has been this way for a few weeks. It is going into the shop this week, so even though I suspect the muffler, I dont know yet. It hasnt seemed to have caused any issues driving the car"

Anonymous, MI (2015 Mazda 3 Grand Touring 2.0-L 4 Cyl)
    Springs or torsion bars

""I've replaced 2x rear springs on this car. That's highly not-normal and is entirely due to the cost-cutting design of the spring. It doesn't have a flat landing, so there's a point load on the bottom, which breaks off the last coil or so. It happens repeatedly and predictably on these. Other cars have springs with a forged flat portion on the bottom most coil to prevent this exact failure.""
