Anonymous A., NJ (2014 Mazda 6 Grand Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.
"Radar component of the radar-guided cruise control system failed at 100,000 miles. Approximate cost to replace is half the cost of the car itself. Problem was not resolved and car no longer has cruise control."
Anonymous A., TN (2014 Mazda 6 Grand Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"Battery failed (too expensive special battery). Hood latch replacement (also too expensive)."
Anonymous, NJ (2014 Mazda 6 Grand Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.
"When shift lever placed in park, it should move a switch to allow power to shut off. The switch engagement pin wore out. And needed replacement."
Anonymous A., CO (2014 Mazda 6 Grand Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"3 problems. 1- During cold weather, occasionally all the dashboard alarms will activate. Resetting the alarms usually clears them but not always. Some times the vehicle needs to be heated in a garage or by normal warming by weather. 2- Tire pressure alarm is active all the time. Mazda apparently does not use in-wheel pressure sensors but calculates the difference in tire rolling diameter. Resetting alarm only clears alarm temporarily. 3-Coolant level alarm perpetually active. Overfilling coolant reservoir clears it temporarily. Alarm returns even when in overfilled condition."
Anonymous A., ND (2014 Mazda 6 Grand Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)Squeaks, rattles, wind noises, seals and/or weather stripping, air and water leaks.
"Water accumulation from rainfall was collecting in the trunk ultimately causing malfunction of an electrical modual. This resulted in random engine shutdowns while driving. After sitting for a period of time (30-90 minutes) the car might start. This took a while to diagnose and ultimately cost close to $1,300.00 to diagnose and repair. The vehicle had not been in any collisions that might have compromised the integrity of the body, and we source of the leak was never positively identified."

"A rear taillight intermitently loses brightness, as if a 'short' was occuring? Have not had this repaired as I suspect it's related to the the previously described water in the trunk issue, and is a relatively minor issue."

"To turn off the car it must be in Park. When it is in Park, occassionally it won't turn off and says to place the car in Park (even though it already is). I have to turn the car back on, put the car into Park more forcefully and then turn the car off. Usually this works but occassionaly this must be repeated several times before successfully turning the car off. Apparently it's a known issue after some years (7 in my case) but not covered on a recall. The solution is to replace the sensor that is in the centre console. It's an inexpensive part but a few hours labour to do the service."
