What Owners Say
"Bushings were replaced, by Mazda due to vibration felt in steering wheel when car had approximately 70,000 miles. No problem since."
Anonymous, PA (2016 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"Actual problem was the Front lower control arms - bushings were shot. Therefore replaced. Common wear & tear problem."
Anonymous A., ON (2016 Mazda CX-5 Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"When driving over bumps, I would heard a clunking noise coming from the front of vehicle. It started in December and was fixed in February."
Anonymous A., FL (2016 Mazda CX-5 Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"The top of the shock towers seem to be made of alumnim rather than streel, which is easier to break. I had a catastrophic breakage of one of the strut tower tops, where it connects to the chassis, and when the mechanics replaced both, they showed me how the second one was about to go, due to its wear. Per the mechanics, this is an issue with Mazdas, and on another model (the 3) there are steel top plates, but not for my CX-5, so they had to replaced them with the same easier-to-break aluminum ones. I live in rugged-winter Montreal, Canada, so yes, the roads are heavy with potholes; however none of my previous cars of the past 30 years had a suspension break. I had wheels bent, tires blown, etc, but this CX-5 is the first suspension break."
Anonymous A., QC (2016 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"A mounting bracket cracked and needed replacing. The bracket was not available as it's own part resulting in full shock replacement for both sides on the rear of the vehicle."
Anonymous, NH (2016 Mazda CX-5 Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"i believe vibration was caused by the drive shaft issue"
Anonymous, MA (2016 Mazda CX-5 Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"Bent toe rods possibly due to extreme potholed"
Anonymous A., MB (2016 Mazda CX-5 Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"It was a continuous noise plus vibration"
Anonymous A., MB (2016 Mazda CX-5 Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"Excessive noise while driving. Diagnosed to worn wheel bearings on drivers side (front and rear)"
Anonymous, ON (2016 Mazda CX-5 Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"It was this past spring. We were just at the point that we were changing our winter tires to all seasons. After the tires were changed we realized it wasn't the studded tires causing the noise. After a Google search we thought it might be the wheel bearings. We took the car to our garage where they diagnosed the same thing. Once wheel bearings were fixed the problem was solved."
Anonymous A., PE (2016 Mazda CX-5 Sport 2.5-L 4 Cyl)
"Was quoted $1200 to repair the problem because Mazda does not offer replacement ball joints, but instead, they would replace the control arm assembly."
