""In May 2025 I began hearing "clunking" sound from behind me as I drove. It grew progressively worse and I took it to the dealer. They quickly identified the problem as the rear hubs failing, caused by corrosion. My extended warranty did not cover the $2700 repair because of the corrosion.""
Anonymous, FL (2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata Club 2.0-L 4 Cyl)Transmission rebuild or replacement, torque converter, premature clutch replacement.
""Synchro imploded. I am on my 4th manual transmission. First lasted to 50,250 miles. Second transmission died at 8,000 miles. Third lasted only 2,000 miles. Fingers crossed on my fourth one, as it only has 1,000 miles on it. Once it starts imploding, it goes quickly. My first one became undrivable within 1 mile. The 2nd and third ones fared better, allowing me to make it home, an additional 8 miles. The chunks of metal inside make the car unable to move under its own power. All were replaced with brand new transmissions at my dealership. This last time, they told me they would no longer take care of this problem.""
