"There is a sensor located on the radiator. The dealership mechanic told us that we had to replace the radiator + the fan shroud because the material of the fan shroud contaminated the radiator. I checked on Internet and this is a well known problem to BMW. In fact, BMW assumes the costs of this repair in the state of California up to 200000 km (or miles). It will cost us 3000 Canadian dollars for the repair. We find this situation unfair. If there is contamination of the radiator by the shroud material (which was chosen by BMW engineers) why should we pay for their mistake. Frustrating..."
