    ""AC stopped blowing cold air in Sept 2024. Our local Nissan dealership said the condenser needed replacement (about $4500) & strongly hinted that the evaporator probably needed replacement too (another $4500). We later found out from an acquaintance (who had to repair the AC on all 3 of the Nissan Leafs he owned) that Nissan Leafs had a known defect with one AC component (I think it was a valve downstream of the condenser) that caused a small leak. This small leak, over time, causes the loss of refrigerant without noticeable decrease is AC cooling. The condenser is forced to work harder to compensate & eventually fails, taking the evaporator out with it. This seemed to agree with what our independent automotive repair shop found. It certainly seemed consistent with what our Nissan dealership hinted at; they could easily tell the condenser needed replacement, & they suspected (but didn't diagnose) the evaporator also needed replacement. The evaporator is apparently under the dashboard & is difficult to access, which is probably why the dealership didn't want to diagnose the evaporator. The dealership seemed familiar with the issue. The repair shop we used (recommended by the person who had to get the AC fixed on his 3 Nissan Leafs) also seemed familiar with this problem, as they performed a more exhaustive diagnosis of the AC compared to what the dealership performed.""

    ""In October, 2024, I received a recall notice from Nissan concerning DC fast charging. It said a repair was being developed, I should not use the CHAdeMO charger connection to a risk of fire, and the remedy should be available in November, 2024. In the coming months I checked regularly with the local dealer about the repair, but they said it was not yet available. In approximately January, 2025, I received another notification that the remedy should be available in Spring, 2025. I have checked regularly with the local dealer since then, but the remedy is still not available. In April, 2025, I called the NHTSA about the recall. I was told there is no deadline for when the recall repair must be available. Because of the relatively short range of the Nissan Leaf Plus battery (215 miles), I must stop at a public DC fast charger one or more times to make a significant out-of-town trip. Now that I cannot use the Level 3 DC charging due to the risk of a lithium-ion battery fire, effectively my use of the Nissan Leaf is limited to in-town use. After 7 months Nissan still does not have the remedy available for the recall and this is unacceptable. There needs to be a time limit that is enforced for recall repairs to be available. Nissan should be ashamed at providing such poor support for its product.""

A 20 mile trip with a 150 mile of starting range quickly went to 15 miles. Took 3 dealers and 4 months of hassle to get Nissan to change a single battery cell. Local dealer replaced the cell and it work fine now."

    "I bought it 2nd hand in Jan 2023. It was the greatest car until it wasn't. I loved driving it and had no problems. Then in Jan 2025, I got a "car will not start if you turn off the engine" sign. I did turn it off before getting to a dealership and ended up paying $600 for towing. Then it was in the shop until June. They replaced the defective battery cell for no charge but a week later, the same "car will not start..." message came on but this time I drove it to a dealership before I turned it off. It is still there and they say it's a problem of the A/C draining the battery, not under warranty and a $2800 fix. My most favorite car to drive became my least favorite. In the mean time I bought a KIA Niro EV that I love but not as much fun to drive."

    A quick charging battery that overheats increases the risk of a fire.
    Summary:
    Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2019-2020 LEAF vehicles equipped with a Level 3 quick charging port. The lithium-ion battery may overheat during Level 3 charging.
    What should you do:
    Owners are advised not to use Level 3 quick charging until the remedy is completed. Dealers will update the battery software, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed October 10, 2024. A second notice will be sent once the remedy becomes available, anticipated December 31, 2025. This is a phased recall. Owners may contact Nissan Customer Service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R24B2, P4A38, and P5A22.

    A rearview camera that does not properly display an image can reduce the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash.
    Summary:
    Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2018-2022 LEAF vehicles. Damage to the camera harness can cause distortion or loss of the rearview camera display image. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
    What should you do:
    Dealers will inspect the rearview camera and harness for damage and replace them as necessary. If no damage is found, the dealer will apply protective tape and reroute the rearview camera harness. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 9, 2024.     Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2018-2023 LEAF vehicles. The Owner's Manual instructions for defroster operation are incorrect, and may result in reduced defroster performance under specific conditions. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 103, "Windshield Defrosting and Defogging Systems."
    What should you do:

    Summary:
    Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Nissan Altima, Armada, Frontier, Kicks, Leaf, Maxima, Murano, NV, NV200, Pathfinder, Rogue, Rogue Sport, Sentra, Titan, Titan Diesel, Versa Note and Versa Sedan vehicles, as well as Infiniti Q50, Q60, QX30 and QX80 vehicles. Additionally included are 2019 Nissan GT-R and Taxi and Infiniti QX50, QX60, Q70, Q70L vehicles. The back-up camera and display settings can be adjusted such that the rear view image is no longer visible and the system will retain that setting the next time the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
    What should you do:
    Nissan will notify owners in phases, having dealers update the back-up camera settings software, free of charge. The recall began November 11, 2019 and all affected VINs should be activated.
