    Reliability

    Common Trouble Spot

    Owner Reported Trouble Spots

The Reliability score is based on our latest subscriber survey of 2011 Nissan Murano owners. The owner comments describe problems respondents experienced with this vehicle.

    Climate System

AC compressor, blower (fan) motor, condenser, evaporator, heater system, automatic climate system, electrical failure, refrigerant leakage.

    What Owners Say

    A/C compressor

""a/c clutch stopped working, replaced complete compressor.""

Anonymous, UT (2011 Nissan Murano SL 3.5-L V6)

""A/C went out on trip in Nevada compressor, hoses and board needed to be replaced.""

Anonymous, OR (2011 Nissan Murano SL 3.5-L V6)

    "failed at 150000 miles"

    Anonymous, OK (2011 Nissan Murano S 3.5-L V6)

"AC compressor went out last year but that is not unusual for a car of this age (purchased car in 2011 and AC worked great for 14 years before compressor finally failed in 2024)."

Anonymous, IL (2011 Nissan Murano LE 3.5-L V6)

"Out of the blue in hot traffic - the a/c simply blew hot air. Around 74,000 miles. Entire a/c unit had to be replaced."

Anonymous, NC (2011 Nissan Murano SL 3.5-L V6)
    Automatic climate control

    "temperature control knob malfunction"

    Anonymous, OK (2011 Nissan Murano S 3.5-L V6)

    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

    What Owners Say

    Display screen goes blank

"My display screen will just blackout at random times. I dont know what causes it. Once I lose the screen, it does not come back on again without restarting the car."

Anonymous, MD (2011 Nissan Murano LE 3.5-L V6)
External music device interface (e.g., smart phone, MP3 player)

"My Bluetooth connection to my apple play doesnt keep a proper signal. The signal cuts in & out and I often have to re-pair my device by turning off the Bluetooth, disconnecting it from the car, and then reconnecting again. Sometimes this takes 2 to 3 times to reconnect. This started happening about a year ago, maybe two years. I experience it almost every day either after turning off the car and turning it back on again, or when I pass by some signal that interferes with the connection. The problem has not been resolved."

Anonymous, MD (2011 Nissan Murano LE 3.5-L V6)
    Other in-car electronics problem

""All twist knob control require periodic cleaning with CRC electrical contact cleaner to eliminate issues with accuracy of knob functions (volume control, temp control, etc.). When the issue was first reported to Nissan dealer, they wanted to replace my entire dashboard control "head unit" for $1200, but I declined having that done when I did some online research and found others reporting this same issue and that spraying CRC cleaner inside each knob control cleaned the contact points and eliminated the issues for at least 2 years (requires repeated cleaning to maintain proper operation of all knob controls).""

Anonymous, IL (2011 Nissan Murano LE 3.5-L V6)

"I stopped being able to see the center cluster about 2 years ago. I googled and found the same complaint by others. This is not DIY project and the dealership said Starts at $1600.00 I chose to leave as is since the center cluster wasnt critical information."

    Anonymous A., NC (2011 Nissan Murano SL 3.5-L V6)

    Exhaust

Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.

    What Owners Say

""As described before, it started about 8 months ago. Sensing that the muffler was making the loud noise while driving, I brought the car to my mechanice who verified that the exhaust system had developed holes and needed to be replaced.""

Anonymous, RI (2011 Nissan Murano SL 3.5-L V6)
    Other/unsure

"There is a recall. Nissan does not have the part. If I bring it in they will not release the car or give a loner."

"currently dealing with Rear Main Seal"

    Anonymous A., NM (2011 Nissan Murano SL 3.5-L V6)
