The new Rogue, with its first redesign since 2014, feels more substantial, similar to the transformation we saw with the latest Sentra sedan. We found the Rogue to be taut and agile, relatively quiet, and user-friendly, making it a compelling small SUV.

Read more about extended warrantiesThe third generation Rogue debuted in 2021, and was a major upgrade over its predecessor. Originally powered by a 181-hp, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine teamed with a CVT, the four-cylinder was replaced with a 201-hp turbo three-cylinder for the 2022 model year. Interior space and quality of materials have improved but the third seat option is gone. A new Platinum trim brings upscale touches, such as quilted leather seats, head-up display, heated rear seats, and upgraded infotainment system. The new Rogue feels solid and substantial with a composed ride and nimble handling. Controls are easy to use but it may take some getting used to the electronic gear selector. Standard advanced safety and driver assist systems, include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic warning, lane departure warning, and more. For 2025, a new Rock Creek trim was added, and ProPilot 2.1 is optional on top trims.
The 2014 redesign made the Rogue bigger, better, quieter and more refined overall. It also produced a better ride than most other small SUVs. A tiny third-row seat was optional, while a backup camera was standard. A clever surround-view system was also available. The SV trim level with the Premium package will get you blind-spot and lane-departure warnings, a power liftgate, a surround-view camera system, and navigation. To get forward-collision warning, which has been shown to be effective in preventing crashes, get the SL with the Premium package. One note: Don't confuse this Rogue with the previous model, which is outdated and was sold as the Rogue Select. Updates for 2018 included standard forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking.
