CR's Take
Porsche used the Boxster platform as the basis for the Cayman coupe. Power comes from a midmounted, 2.9-liter, flat-six engine that produces 265 hp. The higher-performance Cayman S gets a 320-hp version, placing it between the Boxster and 911 in terms of price and performance. A six-speed manual is standard, and a seven-speed sequential is optional. The fixed-roof coupe seats two passengers and uses a hatchback design that increases the rear storage area compared with the Boxster. Reliability has been above average.
