"The transmission began to stutter around 120,000 miles. It became unsafe to drive at about 200,000 miles. The transmission was replaced at around 200,000 miles. This truck was used to for towing fairly large trailers frequently in the first 100,000 miles."

"The drivers heated seat stopped working around 90,00 miles. The wiring had overheated and had to replace the pad element. This was covered under my extended warranty from dealership."

"The lever that actuates the parking brake shoes often rusts and feezes. After several replacements, it finally froze and bent the backing plate. That twisted the mounting for the rear shoes and was not reparable without a new backing plate. That part is unfortunately not offered by Ram anymore. I eventually found a completely new assembly on ebay motors. Had to pull the axle to replace it. Now works perfectly again. Aftermarket actuation levers are plated and don't rust. Highly recomend replacing them in any snow belt environment."

"Severe oil leak from the oil/coolant heat exchanger on top of the engine. In the process of replacing the whole assembly ($1300), they caused 2 major fuel leaks requiring towing both times."

"Transmission overheated. Had to install a cooling unit and replace the fluid/pan. It was obvious it had previously overheated."
