"Leaking from back windshield into back seat of vehicle. Was resolved under warrantee or recall."

    Anonymous, SC (2021 Ram 1500 Limited 5.7-L V8)

"I didn't realize there was a leak through the rear window at first. I stopped to gas up and when I jumped back in the vehicle, the brake pedal was already depressed. I tried to start the vehicle...nothing. No crank sound...just NOTHING. I had the vehicle towed to the shop I use routinely. The tow was difficult because it appeared the anti-theft devices had all engaged. The fob didn't work and the special trick the tow-truck driver had (something about holding the fob to the "START" switch) didn't do anything. Since the truck was now in anti-theft lock-down, he (tow-truck driver) managed to bounce the truck onto the deck of the tow truck...and off the truck once we got it to my shop. At the shop this is a quotation from them: "The vehicle does not even try to start. As there is battery power and the dash illuminates, extract and record fault codes from modules that are able to communicate. (IPC) U1489 - implausible data received from radio frequency hub, U11B9 - Lost communication with radio frequency hub. As the radio frequency hub is responsible for key fob recognition and wake up signals, communication with this device is required for vehicle operation.... Pinpoint testing required. Verified one of the connectors has corrosion on the pins.... Verify there is corrosion on the PCB present and water is built up inside the cover. Note there appear to be water trails above the module tracking down towards it." Leak testing found water leaked through the rear window. The window, high mount break light, plus the various electronics already discussed, had to be replaced."
