RAM dealerships (all in San Diego) do not have their own paint shops, and thus sent me on a run-around to document the issues with 3rd party shops, only to tell me RAM would not warranty the issue. Had to pay thousands out of pocket to resolve the severe paint issue and remove all the rust.""

When the RV running lights and truck top marker lights also stopped working I took the vehicle to a local family owned auto repair shop. After two hours of inspection the problem was traced to a faulty relay switch. Labor plus parts was very expensive. I've never purchased an extended warranty on any vehicle before this truck. Because of RAM's problematic history & the expensive repair costs nowadays I, for the first time, did buy a 'lifetime' extended warranty" (coverage for 150,000 miles). After a minor required minimum the total expenditure was covered.""

"Had several issues and took it to the dealer and each time they said it was a minor problem and said they did a software update. Problem was never solved and the truck was now no longer under warranty. Took it to a local transmission shop that was highly recommended in my area. They dropped the pan and saw that the valve body had a manufacturing flaw and said if the dealer he just dropped the pan they would have seen the problem and it could have been fixed before the transmission was ruined. I called the manufacturer and told them about their crappy dealer here in my town and what they did. Unfortunately they chose to do nothing. So I spent 9k to have my transmission rebuilt."
