Anonymous, CA (2022 Subaru Forester Standard 2.5-L 4 Cyl)
    Apple CarPlay

"The problem with Apple CarPlay is intermittent. They are unable to resolve it at the dealership because it is so intermittent. The phone is plugged into the jack, but Apple CarPlay does not always work. Maybe one out of 40 to 50 times, it will not work."

Anonymous A., NC (2022 Subaru Forester Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

"The Apple Carplay shuts off intermittently which causes problems as it is my only navigation system. I have to unplug the phone from the car and use it as a standalone. This is a problem when I'm using the navigation system."

Anonymous, CA (2022 Subaru Forester Standard 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

Anonymous A., UT (2022 Subaru Forester Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

"After service at the dealer, the alignment was off, causing replacement of all four tires at 30,000 miles."

Anonymous, AZ (2022 Subaru Forester Premium 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

"rear hatch motor had to be replaced"

Anonymous, MI (2022 Subaru Forester Wilderness 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

"We hate the auto shut off when stopped. Try to disable it every time we get in car but sometimes forget. This is a dangerous so called feature because it requires the vehicle to restart hundreds of times during a year for very minimal savings. This needs to be a setting that can be turned off permanently for customers. There are many dangerous situations that are created when the vehicle turns itself off."

Anonymous, IA (2022 Subaru Forester Limited 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

    "Seat belt retractor failed"

Anonymous, NE (2022 Subaru Forester Standard 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

    What Owners Say

    Other noises & leaks problem

"this vehicle replaced a 2020 forester which did not have the high-pitched noise heard by the female co-owner; seems to be related to wilderness trim package. Dealer (male) unable to hear it"

"Car is in for service soon so will have better idea why was problem after that."

Anonymous, ON (2022 Subaru Forester Premium 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

    Climate System

AC compressor, blower (fan) motor, condenser, evaporator, heater system, automatic climate system, electrical failure, refrigerant leakage.

    What Owners Say

    Automatic climate control

"climate control would change the set temperature on its own, lowering the setting 4 degrees at a time and would continue to lower the temperature until it reached the lowest possible setting."

Anonymous, IL (2022 Subaru Forester Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

"The temperature would reset on its own without any input"

Anonymous A., ON (2022 Subaru Forester Premium 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

"This happens frequently but did not occur in the first 2 years...the heat setting automatically drops to LOW, which is very cold. Now it does it regularly, and I cannot change the settings to avoid it,"

Anonymous, MI (2022 Subaru Forester Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)
    Heater system

"There is no air (heat) that comes to the floor level (around the legs) even when the mode control is switched to floor level only and the heater is on full. I mentioned this to the dealer's service department and they compared to another "similar vehicle" and said it was the same. I wrote to Subaru about it and they gave an eloquent reply saying that the service technicians were well trained etc. etc. They avoided a direct answer. I am 81 years old and i have had a car since I was 20 so I have owned plenty of vehicles in that time and so I know that this is a problem regardless of what the responses have been. Otherwise I am satisfied with the Subaru."

Anonymous, BC (2022 Subaru Forester Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

    Electrical Accessories

Cruise control, clock, warning lights, body control module, keyless entry, wiper motor or washer, tire pressure monitor, interior or exterior lights, horn, gauges, 12V power plug, USB ports, alarm or security system, remote engine start, heated or cooled seats, heated steering wheel, headlights, automatic headlights, automatic wipers, wireless charging pad.

    What Owners Say

    12V battery

"The vehicle was not driven for 6 weeks while we were away on a long trip. When we returned, the vehicle, in the garage, would not start. The battery was so dead that the vehicle could not be jump started off of our 4-runner. We called Suburu roadside service and they sent a tow truck. The tow driver was able to start the car with a jump box, but Suburu recommended towing the vehicle to the dealer service center (at their expense). After checking, Suburu advised us that their was basically nothing wrong with the vehicle, only that with the Onstar and hotspot and environmental and other devices on the car, things are continually coming on and off even while the vehicle is idle. Suburu advised that the car needs to be started at least every 3 days to bring the battery back up to normal charge, else it can be severely drained. This is very disconcerting, as had we left this vehicle at the airport parking on our long trip, it very well could not have started when we returned, and it we would have had a very unpleasant end to our trip. The car really needs a manual total shutdown for all non-essential features to prevent this problem."

Anonymous A., TN (2022 Subaru Forester Wilderness 2.5-L 4 Cyl)
    Keyless entry

"When I purchased the car I bought the wireless app that goes with it one night the app stopped working I couldnt use the app to unlock or start may car .. I had to call starlink multiple times and they couldnt figure out what it was ..eventually I haas to take it to Subaru and they had to reprogram that car its been fine ever since"

Anonymous, MO (2022 Subaru Forester Sport 2.5-L 4 Cyl)
    Remote engine starter

"It was the same time issue with the app both nothing would work until I took it in to get reprogrammed"

Anonymous, MO (2022 Subaru Forester Sport 2.5-L 4 Cyl)
    Warning lights

"The car would not start, all the warning lights were lit."

Anonymous, ON (2022 Subaru Forester Limited 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

"Loose trim in a wheel well, becoming loose and hitting wheel causing loud noises and damaging wheel, would not stay in place and required removal in order to drive"

Anonymous, MA (2022 Subaru Forester Premium 2.5-L 4 Cyl)
    Other paint & trim problem

"Thinnest paint job I have seen. First time I leaned into car, lightly touched door paint with metal and big scratch. Bird pecked at its shadow and scratches everywhere. Gas pump hose touched back and has worn down paint. Very very thin and scratches easily."

Anonymous, FL (2022 Subaru Forester Premium 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

Windows, locks and latches, doors or sliding doors, tailgate, trunk or hatch, mirrors, seat controls (power or manual), seat belts, sunroof, convertible top, glass defect.

    What Owners Say

    Doors or sliding doors

"Door collects rain water and doesn't allow it to drain out until the door is open. Large amount if raining at angle for more impact on window, if straight down, usually small amount compared if rain is angled onto window. Both front windows are subject to collecting fluid. Had to dealer after first noticed this, but they couldn't find anything wrong with it... It still collects water after a rain and I just watch out when I open the door and am aware that it will drain out as I open the door. I feel this is a set up for rust!"

Anonymous, FL (2022 Subaru Forester Premium 2.5-L 4 Cyl)
