    Road Test

The Impreza is a pleasant and practical car with the most comfortable ride of any small car we'd tested up to that point. This revsed version brought more rear-seat room, a quieter cabin and better fit and finish than the previous model. While its handling was still fairly agile, this Impreza wasn't as sporty to drive as its predecessor. Its standard all-wheel drive helps in slippery conditions but saps fuel economy; expect only 24 mpg, which is low for this category.
