"Both front and rear wheel bearings needed to be completely replaced after only 90,000 miles. I drove a Toyota Highlander 220,000 miles and never needed to replace bearings. All 2012 Impreza's should be removed from resale and sent to the junk yard instead."

"After driving the car more than a few miles, we smell burning oil when we get out of the car, and sometimes in the car if the windows are often. We don't drive it a lot, so it goes through very little oil. Our neighborhood mechanic couldn't find the source of the leak. We haven't bothered taking it to the dealer, which is an inconvenient distance."

"This may be a minor problem now and has not caused me loss of car use or time, but it is predicted to become catastrophic as some point soon and will result in the loss of this vehicle. It involves the cvt and cannot be repaired. It will need full replacement at the cost of $7000 and the car is worth less than $4000. I have owned 4 Subarus and the all go over 250000 miles before needing such major work that we discarded them. I am deeply disturbed that this 2012 will require more work than it is worth at such low mileage."
