"The USB connection for Android Auto and Apple Car Play is very flaky, multiple cables have been tried and the connection doesn't remain consistent and will disconnect frequently"

Anonymous, ME (2018 Subaru Impreza Premium 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"An ongoing issue in which Apple CarPlay simply stops working. Reported multiple times to Subaru at various service intervals. The entire head unit was replaced, but that failed to fix the issue. Multiple Apple and third-party cables were tried, along with multiple iPhones. Software updates were allegedly installed by the dealer, although the most recent service revealed that the software had not been updated since the car was purchased."

"This older Android Auto integration requires a wired connection. Sadly, it is quite easy to nudge or disable the connection while driving even though I keep the phone in the cubby hole."
