    Brakes

Premature pad/rotor wear, pulsation or vibration, antilock system, parking brake, master cylinder, calipers, squeaking, brake failure, regenerative braking.

    What Owners Say

    Calipers

"The calibers on one wheel didn't release fully on some occasions. Then it just froze totally"

Anonymous A., NJ (2019 Subaru Impreza Premium 2.0-L 4 Cyl)
    Pulsation or vibration

"When we hit the break, there is also a vibration associated with the squeaking, but it is not too much"

    Anonymous, GA (2019 Subaru Impreza 2.0i 2.0-L 4 Cyl)
    Squeaking

"It had and still has a squeaking noise when we push the pedal. We have taken it many times and Subaru was unable to fix the problem. It doesnt seem to effect the breaking power but the constant noise is scary"

    Anonymous, GA (2019 Subaru Impreza 2.0i 2.0-L 4 Cyl)

    Exhaust

Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Other/unsure

"Problem with rodents chewing and eating wiring insulation, fuel lines and under hood insulation. I understand the problem may be caused by composition of the insulation materials. I avoid it by spraying the engine compartment with anti rodent spray. Would be nice if there was a better way."

Anonymous A., NY (2019 Subaru Impreza Premium 2.0-L 4 Cyl)

"Had to buy a new battery"

Anonymous A., FL (2019 Subaru Impreza Sport 2.0-L 4 Cyl)

    What Owners Say

    Apple CarPlay

"At startup when plugging in the phone the system will not recognize the phone and wont connect. These means navigation is not available. Sometime unplugging it and plugging back in will work but most of the time it wont."

Anonymous A., OR (2019 Subaru Impreza Sport 2.0-L 4 Cyl)
    Other in-car electronics problem

"The head unit/infotainment system started having issues beginning in Jan 2024 (7 months ago). The screen constantly cycles through as if it is powering on and off. Cannot shut the screen off. Very distracting while driving especially at night. Cannot play music or use any features with the infotainment system. For a week, this occurred. And now it will randomly start having this issue again amd then randomly work again. Not resolved. Not covered under warranty. No open recalls. Tried updating the software, seemed to help but now still having same issues."

    Anonymous, PA (2019 Subaru Impreza 2.0i 2.0-L 4 Cyl)

    Engine Minor

Accessory belts and pulleys, engine computer, engine mounts, engine knock or ping, fuel leaks, oil leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Other minor engine problem

"The car began to idle irregularly. When stopped, the car would briefly struggle to maintain it's usual idle engine speed, even stalling once or twice. We took it to Subaru and they identified it as sludge buildup in the engine since we were overdue for an oil change. Instead of just changing the oil, they did a full flush of all engine oil, and after a few days, this did solve the problem."

Anonymous, MI (2019 Subaru Impreza Premium 2.0-L 4 Cyl)

    Noises And Leaks

Squeaks, rattles, wind noises, seals and/or weather stripping, air and water leaks.

    What Owners Say

    12V battery

"Something is draining the battery and dealer has been unable to identify what it is. This is the third battery for the car. This problem is in other Subaru models, as well, an a service bulletin has been issued. There is also a class action lawsuit having to do with the draining problem. Current battery had to be jump-started after 5 months. Dealer said car wasn't being driven enough but we made a point to take it out for at least 30 minutes at least one day a week. Problem has not been resolved."

The symptom was that at highway speeds, and after the tires warmed, the car would vibrate and cavitation violently for 20 minutes, then it would go away, only to return after a while."

Reliability indicates how models have performed in the past, providing the basis for predicting how the vehicles will hold up in the year ahead. These charts provide the most comprehensive reliability information available to consumers. Based on information received from our latest subscriber survey for over 300,000 vehicles, our reliability history charts give you a rundown on how 2000 through 2024 vehicles are holding up in 20 potential trouble spots, ranging from the engine, transmission, electric motor, EV charging, and brakes to power equipment and the electrical accessories. NA indicates that we did not receive a large enough sample size to provide data for a specific year. An X indicates that the vehicle was not manufactured for a specific year.
