Engine rebuild or replacement, cylinder head, head gasket, turbocharger or supercharger, timing chain or belt.

    What Owners Say

    Engine rebuild or replacement

"2022 Impreza hatchback, base trim line. Took the car to the dealership for routine and preventative service before I was to be relocating out-of-state. The appointment was just for an oil change and their standard recommended checks for the current mileage which at the time was about 18000. After waiting for hours, I went to the service counter and was told that the mechanic and supervisor didn't like what they heard when the car was running and they were going to need to replace the entire small block portion of the engine. In fact, they had already started disassembling it before consulting or even addressing it with me. They gave me a loaner, which was nice, but again, I was to be moving out of state in a couple of days and this was really going to put a major crimp in the plans as I was to be leaving my apartment soon. They ended up needing to keep the car for nearly a week due to parts issues and staffing issues. I lived in a hotel and ended up needing to ship my car out to my new home as I couldn't wait any longer. Communication through it all was at best obligatory and at worst, abysmal. A massive inconvenience which left a very bad taste in my mouth for the brand, their product, and their customer service. The car has run ok since, but this was my first and likely my last Subaru."

"Car stopped connecting to one of the TPMS sensors. The wireless control module (which includes controls for the key-less entry system) had to be replaced under warranty. This module is in the rear of the car. The dealer says it was rusted out. They don't know how it was exposed to water."
