"it often takes a few minutes to work"

"Sadly, CarPlay has been a true pain in the ass from the beginning of July 2024, and the Subaru dealer where I purchased the Outback was was clueless on the fix. So now I directly contact Apple directly and leave dealer out of the loop. Subaru's answer is Apple is working on update. To Apple's credit they were gracious and thorough in the attempts to fix the CarPlay issues which have been too many to count. I am told that Software IOS 26 should resolve most if not all the issues. Despite all the issues with CarPlay, I stand by my Apple products and CarPlay."

"Outback would not pair or access apple car play after it was working for months. Subaru dealer had car for 45 days and could not solve issue until they replaced entire system. The dealer did give us a loaner for the entire time. While waiting several time for maintenance updates many people with outbacks were experiencing similar problems"

"The audio screen was malfunctioning from the day I purchased the car in July 2024. Screen would cycle thru without inputs; screen would occasionally completely out (black). Dealer constantly stated that they would have to update "software" this was done about 2 times including a 100Reinstall of car software (5 hour duration, it did not fix the problem. after changing dealers and after additional 6 trouble calls at new Subaru dealer, they replaced the screen on or July 2025!!! The problem is now resolved :-)."

Its controlled by your hands and eyes. It is too complicated to use many of it's functions while driving. Figuring stuff out and where it is, plus driving at the same time is dangerous.""

"The drivers door will puddle water inside the car after heavy rains. The driver's window has never sealed properly causing highway wind noise, it is better after dealer replacement, but not perfect."

"The after 15k miles had multiple rattles above the headliner and around the rearview mirror which the dealer was able to fix, but not until I left the car there for a total of two weeks on two different visits."

"Most very annoying rattle comes from any bottle placed on the door cup holder. It is extremely annoying. I think it is because of the cheap/low quality plastics used in the trim."

""It was an intermittent rattle sound, often loudest at low speed when I would press on acceleration very slightly. The dealer traced it to a metal line (A/C?) running along the top of the firewall and one of the holders had a poorly held and a distorted rubber liner. He adjusted it without replacing any parts. Occasionally the sound does come back but not as bad/often as before.""

"Persistent yet hard to find tapping noise heard from the dash. Turned out to be an ac tube rubbing against the firewall."

""Car had about 2k on it & we took it on a 3500 mi road trip. Developed a squeak/rattle from - well we could not decide where. Seemed mostly in the front dash area but depending on whether sitting in the passenger seat of driver's seat seemed to come from a different area. Started the second day our and persisted for the trip. Drove us nuts. When we got home, it disappeared. Will come back if I drive on a rough road for several miles but generally is gone.""

"The primer or adhesive around the windshield began dripping on the inside of the windshield. The windshield needed to be replaced. This was the first time the dealer had seen this happen. They had to call the corporate office to discuss the issue and determine the remedy."

"Rear hatch automatic opener failed. Replaced at dealer under warranty in about three hours."

"Very uncomfortable seats. Long drives 2 hrs. + are very painful. Also the Hi tech computerized displays and directions are very confusing. Simple tasks you may need as a driver are co0nfusing and sometimes impossible to accomplish with very poor directions in the manuals. Subaru needs to simplify tasks"
