    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

    What Owners Say

    Display screen freezes up

"The Toyota Entune systems is of poor quality, causing the driver to frequently return to the screen because the screen did not respond to the command. I view this condition as hazardous to safe operation."

    Anonymous, NC (2019 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro 4.0-L V6)
    In-dash navigation system (GPS)

"hackers have changed the trip directions mid trip. They have been able to use the control srstem to lock me out of my car. A sheriff came and attenpted to unlock it with an electronic device. as soon as he would unlock it the hackers would immediatelylock it again before he could get the door open. A Toyota service technician had to come and unlock it. He said that it was extreme. but that it was happening more often. He said that once they get in the system it is almost impossible to fix."

    Anonymous, (2019 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4.0-L V6)
    Phone pairing (e.g., Bluetooth)

"Phone pairs inconsistently, typically requiring multiple attempts to successfully pair. Creates a hazard to safe operation of the vehicle."

    Anonymous, NC (2019 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro 4.0-L V6)

    Body Hardware

Windows, locks and latches, doors or sliding doors, tailgate, trunk or hatch, mirrors, seat controls (power or manual), seat belts, sunroof, convertible top, glass defect.

    What Owners Say

    Tailgate, hatch or trunk

"This is the same problem as described for the weatherstripping. The two are one issue."

    Anonymous A., TN (2019 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4.0-L V6)

    Exhaust

Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Other/unsure

"Back tailgate gets stuck some time."

    Anonymous A., ME (2019 Toyota 4Runner Limited 4.0-L V6)

    Fuel System/Emissions

Sensors (O₂, or oxygen, sensor), emission-control devices (includes EGR), fuel-injection system, fuel gauge/sender, fuel pump, problems filling up the tank.

    What Owners Say

    Other emissions/fuel system problem

"It went into limp mode while driving and had go straight to service where they cleaned the throttle body but the problem still persisted so it went back for a new throttle body and has worked fine since. Considered a very rare problem with this truck I just got lucky is all."

    Anonymous, ON (2019 Toyota 4Runner Limited 4.0-L V6)

    Paint And Trim

Paint (fading, chalking, peeling, or cracking), loose interior or exterior trim or moldings, rust.

    What Owners Say

    Loose interior trim or moldings

"The weatherstripping around the rear hatch door will not stay in place. It is easily disturbed when unloading the rear cargo. If it becomes loose, then the rear cargo door will no close, but it will close enough such that the open door signal on the dash will not indicate a problem. Hence cargo can fall out when driving (and has). Frequent attempts to secure the weatherstripping have failed, as the attachment method is poorly designed. The problem has not yet been resolved."

    Anonymous A., TN (2019 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4.0-L V6)
