    Owner Reported Trouble Spots

The Reliability score is based on our latest subscriber survey of 2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid owners. The owner comments describe problems respondents experienced with this vehicle.

    Electrical Accessories

Cruise control, clock, warning lights, body control module, keyless entry, wiper motor or washer, tire pressure monitor, interior or exterior lights, horn, gauges, 12V power plug, USB ports, alarm or security system, remote engine start, heated or cooled seats, heated steering wheel, headlights, automatic headlights, automatic wipers, wireless charging pad.

    What Owners Say

    12V battery

"Car would not start in cold weather. Toyota had no replacement for 6 months. Had to jump start frequently. This battery is not available from parts suppliers only Toyota."

Anonymous, NY (2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid LE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

""After the car was not used for some time, the 12V batter was dead. Was able to jump and get car started. Dealer tested the battery and said it needed to be replaced. The 12V battery is under the back seat and a special part which was expensive to replace.""

Anonymous, CA (2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"Replaced after 10 years. It lasted 5 years past its expected lifetime."

Anonymous, GA (2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid SE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

""Again, a computer code indicated the small 12v battery in the trunk needed replacement. This was the first time, though the car was nearly 11 years old. IT'S A 2014, NOT A 2015.""

Anonymous A., NC (2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Keyless entry

"We had to have work done inside the front door so that the keyless entry would work again"

Anonymous A., NC (2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Other electrical system problem

"Car quit without warning on the freeway. Coasted to adjust stop, no power steering and no power brakes. Very dangerous. Only had about 36,000 miles on it but was past the years on warranty. It cost over $2,000."

Anonymous A., CA (2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid LE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

    What Owners Say

    Display screen freezes up

""The display screen seemed to have moved in such a way that you could not touch it and get the expected result. It appeared to have shifted. For example when you clicked on an arrow nothing happened. After looking at some Youtube videos of someone resolving that problem, our mechanic and I were able to fix it.""

Anonymous, CA (2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"Touch screen not very sensitive. Have to press harder as car ages. Screen freezes on occasion."

Anonymous, NC (2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Hardware replacement

""The head unit started endlessly rebooting one day and never recovered. This impacted navigation, charging, and radio.""

Anonymous A., CA (2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid SE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    In-dash navigation system (GPS)

"Started about one year ago, I can't enter destination, not yet repaired"

Anonymous A., CA (2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Other in-car electronics problem

"The display screen is higher than the contact points for selecting functions. The bottom line of the display is viewable, but the screen area to select is below the bottom of the display screen."

Anonymous, NH (2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

    What Owners Say

    Heated or cooled seats

"Leather material is cracking and peeling."

Anonymous, WA (2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

""Some time last winter, the drivers side seat heater stopped working. I had the dealer repair it, but after a week or two into the cold weather this fall, the seat heater again stopped working. Two trips to the dealer later, many phone calls and discussions with the service staff and management (and several months) later, they made the repair and covered the cost of labor. The cost of the repairs eventually totaled about $1600 and over a year with no working seat heater.""

Anonymous, WA (2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Other engine starting/ignition problem

"It was because of the wiring harness that the car would no longer start."

Anonymous A., CA (2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid LE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

    Exhaust

Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Other/unsure

"The sunroof motor had to be replaced."

Anonymous, MD (2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"Oil slowly leaking into the timing belt area."

Anonymous, MI (2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

""The battery used to start the car needs to be replaced. It is more than ten years old, so this is to be expected. The problem is that there are NO REPLACEMENT batteries available. The dealership, parts stores, battery specialists all say that that battery is not available and there is no other battery that can serve as a substitute. The dealership said I could buy one now and if/when one comes in I could have it, but admitted it would probably months before they got one. Now, when I want to use my car in the morning, I have to jump start it. EVERY TIME!!! The car runs great , but I should not have to jump start it every time I want to use it. The problem is not resolved and apparently Toyota has no plans to resolve it. The service manager said if he had that car on his lot, he would just put it up for auction, admitting that Toyota has NO ANSWERS. Great car except for this.""

Anonymous A., AR (2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid LE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

Anonymous, CA (2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

    EV Battery

Electric/hybrid battery pack failure, replacement or malfunction, or cooling.

    What Owners Say

    Electric/hybrid battery pack replacement

"Computer code indicated the hybrid battery pack had degraded and needed replacement. A fine independent shop obtained a new OEM battery directly from Toyota and installed it for approx $1200 less than the dealer I bought the car from quoted me."

Anonymous A., NC (2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

    Noises/Leaks

Squeaks, rattles, wind noises, seals and/or weather stripping, air and water leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Air or water leaks

""The drains from the sunroof got clogged. No one at the dealers where we took the car for maintenance ever said we had to clear them out. Passenger side of car flooded. All carpeting and padding was soaked. (No mechanical damage.). Dealer was going to charge $3,500 to rip everything back and dry it. Local repair shop did a great job for $350. We always had required servicing done at Toyota dealerships. They should have either told us clearing out the sunroof drains was required, or done it as needed when we brought the car in for routine servicing.""

Anonymous, SC (2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

""I live in a city where potholes are ubiquitous, and often not filled or covered in a timely manner. I had to replace both axles this year, as city surface streets comprise most of my mileage, so I do not attribute the cracked axles to a design flaw.""
