    Electrical Accessories

Cruise control, clock, warning lights, body control module, keyless entry, wiper motor or washer, tire pressure monitor, interior or exterior lights, horn, gauges, 12V power plug, USB ports, alarm or security system, remote engine start, heated or cooled seats, heated steering wheel, headlights, automatic headlights, automatic wipers, wireless charging pad.

    What Owners Say

    Headlights

"There is something that partially blocks the driver's vision in the driver side headlight. When lit against a wall with the car stopped it appears like to "dragon teeth" one longer than the other. While driving it is a major distraction and impairs visibility on the driver's side or ability to see ahead in the median which in deer country is very dangerous. I have contacted Toyota in December 2023 who gave me a case # but has never contacted me since. I contacted Butte Toyota December 20236 who is denying that there is a problem. They forwarded information to Toyota and still have not gotten a response. I contacted the Montana Highway Patrol and emailed them a video. The officer said he saw the problem but wanted to test drive the vehicle himself at night. The Officer is currently on vacation and will contact me upon his return. Once verified that the headlight system is in violation of Montana State Code Annotated Title 61 I will decide whether to seek legal counsel. The problem is not resolved. The problem was identified on the initial night drive in October 2023. It is not a constant but frequently appears when regular headlights are on, it is like a "blob" that blocks driver's vision and is a serious distraction to safe driving. It does not occur when the bright headlights are on."

    EV Battery

    What Owners Say

    Other electric/hybrid battery problem

"Car won't start. Googled & found workaround to put key in acc position for 20 seconds, then try to start it. This worked. Took car to Toyota dealer & they couldn't find a problem."

    Noises And Leaks

Squeaks, rattles, wind noises, seals and/or weather stripping, air and water leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Other noises & leaks problem

"Engine noise started immediately. I returned to dealer to investigate and was told that this was normal hybrid engine noise, perfectly normal, nothing to be done. I wondered why I had never heard of this through all the reading I had done AND why neither of our two Prius models had made this noise."

Reliability indicates how models have performed in the past, providing the basis for predicting how the vehicles will hold up in the year ahead. These charts provide the most comprehensive reliability information available to consumers. Based on information received from our latest subscriber survey for over 300,000 vehicles, our reliability history charts give you a rundown on how 2000 through 2024 vehicles are holding up in 20 potential trouble spots, ranging from the engine, transmission, electric motor, EV charging, and brakes to power equipment and the electrical accessories. NA indicates that we did not receive a large enough sample size to provide data for a specific year. An X indicates that the vehicle was not manufactured for a specific year.
