Anonymous, IL (2004 Toyota Corolla CE 1.8-L 4 Cyl)"Noisy muffler, got progressively louder over 2 weeks. Had new muffler, pipes, etc installed. It was expensive, but the car was running well otherwise. The garage confirmed that the old muffler was the original one, as I didn't recall ever replacing the muffler. It had lasted 20 years despite our harsh Canadian winters and all of the road salt. Quite impressive."

""Check engine light kept indicating an O2 sensor problem, which turned out to be some kind of buildup in the catalytic converter. It can be repaired at high cost, but is not currently affecting the drivability of the car.""
