"Stuck emissions valve"

""Intermittant to continuous problem with charcoal emissions module connected to fuel tank. Causes check engine and traction control lights to flash continuously durng operation. Advised that module has to be replaced, but may fail again even after repair.""

"There has been a recurrent problem with our 2010 Corolla LE (automatic transmission). The emission control system was replaced, and re-replaced by a mechanic part-by-part under warranty - repeatedly - until he told us nicely that he was at a loss for what to do. We had also taken it to a dealer who didn't know what to do. Recently, we took it to another mechanic who replaced some valve, and it didn't give the error code for a few months, but now it is back. The car has 208,000 miles on it, which some people would say was a good life for a car, but I am hoping to get 300,000 miles out of it. Sadly, I think we're in the market for another used car."
