The Reliability score is based on our latest subscriber survey of 2014 Toyota Corolla owners. The owner comments describe problems respondents experienced with this vehicle.

    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

    What Owners Say

    Display screen freezes up

"It started a couple of years ago; for awhile it only occurred during hot weather but has been consistent for the last 4 months or so. The ONLY problem with it to date is that it will not allow me to reset on the display screen - I like to reset the trip information every single time I get gas so I can see how my gas mileage was for each trip. Because I currently cannot reset it, I only know that I am averaging 40.0 mpg over the course of the last several months. For a 10-year-old car, I think that's doing pretty darn well!!"

Anonymous, IL (2014 Toyota Corolla LE 1.8-L 4 Cyl)
    Display screen goes blank

"A few months ago, the display went blank, but the rear view camera still works"

    Anonymous A., NC (2014 Toyota Corolla S 1.8-L 4 Cyl)
    Other in-car electronics problem

"The bottom half of the touch screen doesnt work. The area that doesnt work started at the bottom and moved up the screen. Its a well known issue that Toyota should have recalled but did not because its a nuisance on what is otherwise the best car Ive ever owned."

    Anonymous, TN (2014 Toyota Corolla S 1.8-L 4 Cyl)
    Phone pairing (e.g., Bluetooth)

"New Samsung Galaxy S23 will not place voice, for maps, through sound system. Previous Galaxy S phones have had no problem. Annoying. Dealers have no idea and have tried numerous online corrections to no avail."

    Anonymous, NC (2014 Toyota Corolla S 1.8-L 4 Cyl)

    Anonymous, QC (2014 Toyota Corolla S 1.8-L 4 Cyl)

AC compressor, blower (fan) motor, condenser, evaporator, heater system, automatic climate system, electrical failure, refrigerant leakage.

    What Owners Say

    A/C compressor

"A/C stopped blowing cold. I've never had to replace a compressor in any of my cars. Was told it's a newer style energy conserving compressor and wasn't worth rebuilding. I doubt it saved me enough $ to cover the replacement."

Anonymous, FL (2014 Toyota Corolla LE 1.8-L 4 Cyl)
    Other climate system problem

"The A/C works on the highway & when moving steadily forward. The air blowing is warm or at outdoor temperature when parked or during stop & go traffic. Mechanics have indicated that fluids or coolants are not the issue. Toyota can only diagnois the issue at a high cost."

Anonymous, OK (2014 Toyota Corolla LE 1.8-L 4 Cyl)

"The A/C stops blowing cold air and the pressure does not indicate that it needs a recharge. We speculate its a deeper issue, potentially with the condenser but we arent sure."
