    Exhaust

Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Other/unsure

"Every time it rained, water got trapped in the driver or passenger side doors and I could hear it sloshing around. The dealer stated that it was a manufacturing defect and added some sort of filter inside the doors. Since this was a 3 year old car, they should have informed us of the possibility of this defect when we bought the car."

    Anonymous, NJ (2020 Toyota Corolla L 1.8-L 4 Cyl)

"Water seats inside the doors of the front Doors and also the front bumper keeps wanting to come off ."

Anonymous, TX (2020 Toyota Corolla 1.8-L 4 Cyl)

"I had to get my second car battery in five years"

Anonymous, MA (2020 Toyota Corolla LE 1.8-L 4 Cyl)

    "Front axels making clicking noises"

Anonymous, FL (2020 Toyota Corolla XLE 1.8-L 4 Cyl)

    Body Hardware

Windows, locks and latches, doors or sliding doors, tailgate, trunk or hatch, mirrors, seat controls (power or manual), seat belts, sunroof, convertible top, glass defect.

    What Owners Say

    Doors or sliding doors

"Rain water builds up inside the doors. To fix this, I simply removed two drain gaskets underneath each door, and kept them removed. Until I learned the problem online (other owners had it), I would hear water swooshing when I drove. This made me concerned about fuel economy also, since there was a substantial amount of water on all my doors, as well as the cars handling due to added weight."

Anonymous A., CT (2020 Toyota Corolla LE 1.8-L 4 Cyl)
Fuel door or charge port door

"Every time Im at the gas station, I spend a good 30 seconds wrestling with the pump so it wont shut off on me. It seems to false-detect that the tank is full. I have to position it just right so I can leave it filling without my guidance. When I go to NJ (where gas station workers have to fill up your gas), they often walk away and the pump shuts off, or they think my tank is already full so I have to explain it. Never had this problem on my 2010 Accord."

Anonymous A., CT (2020 Toyota Corolla LE 1.8-L 4 Cyl)
    Locks and latches

"Seatbelt latch quit working. It seemed like a spring broke. I checked with AutoZone for the replacement part and was advised that there were safety recalls on this issue and model. When I contacted Toyota about it, they said it wasnt for my VIN, but I could pay them to fix it and get a refund if it does eventually get recalled. They wanted $326 to fix it; the part was another $48. I bought the part from a Toyota certified company and had my son replace it for free."

Anonymous, MS (2020 Toyota Corolla LE 1.8-L 4 Cyl)

    Noises And Leaks

Squeaks, rattles, wind noises, seals and/or weather stripping, air and water leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Air or water leaks

"After a few days of rain, I accessed the right rear door, which is not routinely used. I realized that it was draining water. A LOT of water. I watched it drain, didn't stop, went back inside for my phone, returned, still draining, and videoed it as it continued draining. The door had to have been full. My vehicle also has a musty smell as if from water, prior to this incident. I purchased it as a 2yr old car so do not know if this was an issue with the vehicle new or due to something from its prior owner. I have not yet had it checked out by Toyota so do not know why."

Anonymous, NV (2020 Toyota Corolla XSE 1.8-L 4 Cyl)
    Seals and/or weather-stripping

"rain water infiltrates side windows and pools in bottom of door. makes sloshing sound. Toyota has a fix. Remove drain plugs in bottom of doors."

Anonymous A., NC (2020 Toyota Corolla LE 2.0-L 4 Cyl)
    Squeaks or rattles

"Rattles almost constantly. I have had it to the dealer but it it is unresolved."

Anonymous, IL (2020 Toyota Corolla LE 1.8-L 4 Cyl)

    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

    What Owners Say

    Apple CarPlay

"It requires me to replace the entire transceiver because I get interference during phone calls that causes it to click and drop out, meaning I cant always hear everything. The other person is saying. It also causes my phone, not to be recognized by the car I have chosen not to repair this because it cost over $1000."

Anonymous A., SC (2020 Toyota Corolla SE 1.8-L 4 Cyl)
External music device interface (e.g., smart phone, MP3 player)

"When I got a new phone, I was able to pair the phone, but the apps no longer worked. I am particularly concerned about the GPS, as GPS was a priority for me when I purchased a new vehicle.I do have an Android phone, not an iphone. I think my car prefers an Apple phone. Also, I am unable to listen to audio books in the car. The phone connects, the book plays, but there is no sound."

Anonymous A., CA (2020 Toyota Corolla LE 1.8-L 4 Cyl)
    In-dash navigation system (GPS)

"I am incredibly disapointed that I can no longer connect to the GPS. This happened when I got a new phone. But even before I lost access, connecting to the GPS with an android phone, was complicated and time consuming. Also, connection had to be redone each time the car turned off, including gas station breaks during a trip."

Anonymous A., CA (2020 Toyota Corolla LE 1.8-L 4 Cyl)

    Transmission Major

Transmission rebuild or replacement, torque converter, premature clutch replacement.

    What Owners Say

    Transmission rebuild or replacement

"Car was making loud noise when under load (i.e., starting from a stop going up a hill). I reported it in March and suggested it might be a motor mount. The Service people blew it off and told me I would need to leave the car for three days and if they couldn't find anything wrong, I'd have to pay for the diagnostics. Noise got progressively worse until October when I took it in for regular service. It needed a complete replacement (under warranty). When I picked it up they told me it also needed a motor mount."

Anonymous A., PA (2020 Toyota Corolla SE 2.0-L 4 Cyl)

    Brakes

Premature pad/rotor wear, pulsation or vibration, antilock system, parking brake, master cylinder, calipers, squeaking, brake failure, regenerative braking.

    What Owners Say

    Premature brake wear

"Started in spring of this year. Had to have brake pads and shoes replaced. According to what I have found on line, this was pretty early replacement although not out of the norm."

Anonymous, ON (2020 Toyota Corolla LE 1.8-L 4 Cyl)

    Paint And Trim

Paint (fading, chalking, peeling, or cracking), loose interior or exterior trim or moldings, rust.

    What Owners Say

Paint (fading, chalking, cracking, or peeling)

    "Seems to chip easily"

Anonymous, GA (2020 Toyota Corolla Hybrid LE 2.0-L 4 Cyl)

    Engine Electrical

Alternator, starter, hybrid battery replacement, hybrid battery related systems, regular battery, battery cables, engine harness, coil, ignition switch, electronic ignition, spark plugs and wires failure, auto stop/start.

    What Owners Say

    Auto stop/start malfunction

"Drive start malfunction light has comee on three times and powers the engine. It then requires a tow to the dealer where it takes them days to determine the issue as it can be a whole of issues. In all my cases it was faulty spark plugs supposedly guaranteed for 100,000km. The first time they had my car for a week and charged me $350 but the next two times I stood my ground and had it fixed under warranty and they provided me with a loaner."

Anonymous, NS (2020 Toyota Corolla SE 2.0-L 4 Cyl)

    Climate System

AC compressor, blower (fan) motor, condenser, evaporator, heater system, automatic climate system, electrical failure, refrigerant leakage.

    What Owners Say

    A/C compressor

"A/C was not working properly when we bought it. We purchased on the condition it would be fixed. The dealer (not Toyota) tried to fix it but it stopped working again. The Toyota dealer was finally able to fix it."

Anonymous, TX (2020 Toyota Corolla XLE 1.8-L 4 Cyl)
