    Exhaust

Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Other/unsure

"Door on sunglass holder broke and needs to be replaced"

Anonymous A., VA (2020 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Platinum 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

    "2 recalls."

Anonymous, NY (2020 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Hybrid XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"I like this vehicle a lot. Unfortunately, it's very popular with car thieves, and Toyota doesn't seem to care enough to improve security on their vehicles."

Anonymous A., ON (2020 Toyota Highlander Hybrid XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"The automatic lift gate has not functioned properly since we purchased the vehicle. It will open but not close completely without being physically pulled shut. I am extremely disappointed."

Anonymous, UT (2020 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Platinum 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

    "Struts on hatch are failing"

Anonymous, BC (2020 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

    Fuel System/Emissions

Sensors (O₂, or oxygen, sensor), emission-control devices (includes EGR), fuel-injection system, fuel gauge/sender, fuel pump, problems filling up the tank.

    What Owners Say

    Other emissions/fuel system problem

"The car indicated a problem and a message came up to park it. I was told the engine needs to be run on gas frequently in the winter so moisture does not build up. The electric engine is a bit delicate and does not handle the weather in NW British Columbia! It required 3 oil flushings - replacing the oil until all the moisture was eliminated. This would have cost about $550 - my local dealership covered it - this time. I have been instructed I should have an oil change in mid-winter to counter act this not-a-Toyota-flaw."

Anonymous A., BC (2020 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Platinum 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

    "Previously explained"

Anonymous A., BC (2020 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Platinum 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
