    Exhaust

    What Owners Say

    Other/unsure

"I've had a total replacement of my moon roof because a leak caused motor failure in 2022 and the leak was not addressed when the first motor replacement was made. My extended insurance paid for that. When the second replacement motor and complete glass, seal and motor were replaced I had to pay out of pocket. I believe it was a Toyota service dept oversite. I have also been waiting to have my console/navigation/entertainment unit replaced with a used one as their mechanic also broke the screen while servicing my car. They still haven't found me a used replacement and they say they can't replace it with a new one as a new one won't work. Love my car. My back door has just failed. I can't afford to have it fixed as I am a retired senior so I am opening it manually. It's heavy. Rear brake pads and rotors replaced."

"The rear hatch actuator motor needed to be replaced as the hatch would only half way."

    Anonymous A., FL (2014 Toyota Highlander XLE 3.5-L V6)

"Corroded transmission lines. They were replaced approximately when the Highlander was at 68000kms"

Anonymous, ON (2014 Toyota Highlander LE Plus 3.5-L V6)

"The automatic tailgate system intermittently does not open or close all of the way. At that time It has to be done manually. While it was still under the extended warranty, every time I took it into Toyota, it would not do that. It would only happen intermittently when I was not at the Toyota shop for repairs or oil change. Therefore, we couldnt identify the problem until after it was out of warranty and then I was told oh you have to replace the brackets for the tailgate and the estimated cost was over $1200. I think this problem couldve been identified while it was still under warranty. I did check with consumer reports, and there was no recall noted on this problem."

    Anonymous A., FL (2014 Toyota Highlander Limited 3.5-L V6)

"The left power lift strut failed and was replaced for $658. Very expensive."

"Started hearing that there was a "leak" in my exhaust system (louder noise). Went to one place that told me they would have to replace the entire system from back of muffler on, due to hole in pile, for something on the order of $1+K. Went to Midas that was able to patch the pile for apx. $300."

"The passenger front and both rear passenger doors had issues with the automatic door lock actuator. The doors would not lock or u lock with the door lock button or with the keyless entry key fob. I had to order and replace the actuators in all three doors. I had changed the drivers actuator 2 years ago. This seems to be a common issue with Toyotas (solenoid in actuator fails). The vehicle could be locked manually and did not affect the drivability of the vehicle."
