    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

    What Owners Say

    Android Auto

"Problems started immediately. Unable to connect far more times than not. Problem has not been resolved. More recently, Android Auto doesn't even appear on the display screen."

Anonymous A., FL (2023 Toyota Prius Prime XSE 2.0-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)

"Android Auto has been confusing to operate and intermittently inoperable."

Anonymous, NM (2023 Toyota Prius Prime XSE 2.0-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)
    Display screen goes blank

"The display goes blank randomly and then the problem goes away when the after is restarted after a drive."

Anonymous, CA (2023 Toyota Prius Prime XSE 2.0-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)
    Phone pairing (e.g., Bluetooth)

""Almost since purchase, pairing of Galaxy phone w Android has frequently failed, resulting in loss of navigation system and access to Sirius subscription.""

Anonymous, NM (2023 Toyota Prius Prime XSE 2.0-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)

"It started almost immediately after purchasing. The vehicle doesn't always recognize my phone, but it almost always recognizes my wife's phone. When it does pair with my phone, and I stop to run an errand, it doesn't always recognize my phone when I return to the car. I don't need to drive a vehicle with an attitude. Driving in South Florida is difficult enough without also having the distraction of the phone pairing issue."

Anonymous A., FL (2023 Toyota Prius Prime XSE 2.0-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)
    Radio

"The radio works using an app that frequently freezes up,"

Anonymous, CA (2023 Toyota Prius Prime XSE 2.0-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)

    Exhaust

Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Other/unsure

""The front pillars interfere with drive vision of turning. It is next to impossible to see the curbs next to the front two tires and front sides when turning. This is such a safety issue that I think the car should be recalled if Toyota is not willing to correct the design of the pillars. I've already lost both passenger side tires, which is a MAJOR problem since there is no spare tire. OTHERWISE, I enjoy driving the car both short and long distances. My back seat passengers do NOT agree. They find the back seats extremely uncomfortable. On the other hand, I have had ZERO problems with seeing the driver side electronic displays that were cited by some. I just adjusted the seat and steering wheel.""

Anonymous A., GA (2023 Toyota Prius Prime SE 2.0-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)

"Accessory battery (not hybrid battery) died. The car needed to be jump-started."

Anonymous, MD (2023 Toyota Prius Prime XSE 2.0-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)

""The entire area of the screen, ventilation air conditioning, etc went out. The car was three months old. Toyota replaced it for $10,000 that they paid for.""

Anonymous, MA (2023 Toyota Prius Prime SE 2.0-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)

"Back door opened when in a car wash. I learned about the recall for this two weeks later. It's been repaired by Toyota at no cost."

Anonymous, CA (2023 Toyota Prius Prime Unsure 2.0-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)

Anonymous, CO (2023 Toyota Prius Prime XSE 2.0-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)
    Other electrical system problem

"Car refused to start. Only a few times out of many. Car alarm would also turn on. Never resolved. Dealer was of little help. Online suggestion of pushing start button with foot off the pedal would allow shutdown and then could be started successfully."

Electric/hybrid battery pack failure, replacement or malfunction, or cooling.
