What Owners Say
"Both gasket replacements were very expensive because there were many systems disassembled and rebuilt in order to repair"
Anonymous A., MA (2014 Toyota Prius V Five 1.8-L 4 Cyl hybrid)""On vacation when I noticed reduced gas mileage. At one point, the engine would sporadically run rough when first started. This only happened a few times. Upon returning from vacation, I took it to a repair shop where I was told that it had blown a head gasket. Repairs are done. Better gas mileage but not back to my original gas mileage. I do need to get tires soon, maybe this is contributing to the gas mileage issue.""
Anonymous, WA (2014 Toyota Prius V Three 1.8-L 4 Cyl hybrid)"Mechanic diagnosed because of coolant and oil levels going down slowly."
Anonymous A., NJ (2014 Toyota Prius V Five 1.8-L 4 Cyl hybrid)"Head gasket failed at 171000 miles and was vert expensive repair($4500)"
Anonymous, CA (2014 Toyota Prius V Two 1.8-L 4 Cyl hybrid)""At around 100K miles, I noticed that the vehicle was using oil. I took it to my mechanic who stated that there was a service advisory on this Prius model that the wrong piston rings were used and it was a Toyota error. However, all Toyota would do about the problem was to replace the rings for $4000. The problem still exists and has not been resolved.""
