What Owners Say
"THE A/C ISN'T WORKING AND IT COST OVER 2000 TO FIX."
Anonymous, NJ (2008 Toyota Sienna 3.5-L V6)"Damper control inside dash board makes clicking noise. Replaced and time to replace one of the other two. Also heater element on driver side had to be replaced."
Anonymous, (2008 Toyota Sienna XLE 3.5-L V6)"The air conditioning blows warm air on driver side and cool on passenger side. Every year had to add freon in spring. finally replaced A/C drier/collector and parts. Blew cold air until last year door actuator stuck or broken. Only notice with the A/C. Makes horrible squealing noise periodically, but the warm air on driver is unbearable. If I have a mechanic tear the whole dash apart and replace all of the door actuators, it is not guarantee it will stay fixed. I don't want to keep spending money on this van. But I don't drive very much and can't afford car payments right now.I used to fix cars as a mechanic. But I have fixed several problems with this van, but my health won't allow me to take on these labor intense repairs. Still looking for a private repair person that is reasonable and reliable. Thank You very much !!"
Anonymous A., MD (2008 Toyota Sienna Limited 3.5-L V6)"Heat on the driver's side stopped working correctly. The temperature had to be set very high for it to turn on. Tried various things to correct the problem and none worked"
Anonymous A., PA (2008 Toyota Sienna LE 3.5-L V6)"Damper control with clicking noise replace and May have to replace other two also. Also, heater element replaced"
Anonymous, (2008 Toyota Sienna XLE 3.5-L V6)"The air conditioning stopped working and the dealership noted a small leak in the tubing. It would cost $3000 to repair. I bought a canister of refrigerant and boosted the system 15 months ago and the air conditioning has worked well since then without requiring any additional refrigerant."
Anonymous, OH (2008 Toyota Sienna XLE 3.5-L V6)"It's had it for 3 or 4 years. I just top it off when the weather gets warm."
Anonymous A., SC (2008 Toyota Sienna LE 3.5-L V6)"We have had persistent refrigerant leaks that service techs have been unable to locate. Best guess is that it is in the rear A/C, and it is not worth the expense to correct."
Anonymous A., NY (2008 Toyota Sienna LE 3.5-L V6)"AC to the rear was leaking; the cost to fix would have been exhorbitant since the piping is inaccessible; so the decision was made to seal off rear AC so at least front AC works. The first attempt didn't work; the seal blew as I drove out of the mechanic's shop. They fixed again at no charge (said they normally would not but because I was still on their property the did). The second fix has survived almost a year."
Anonymous, ON (2008 Toyota Sienna LE 3.5-L V6)"Leak caused by one component. Replaced worn, faulty part, recharged refrigerant. Seems fine now."
Anonymous, KS (2008 Toyota Sienna LE 3.5-L V6)
"The A/C would not blow cool air when the car was initially started. After about 15 minutes it might start and then run for a while before returning to warm air. The shop replaced the freon but that didnt help. Since I had already replaced the compressor about 15 months ago I chose not to spend any more money and will be getting rid of the van."
