    Brakes

Premature pad/rotor wear, pulsation or vibration, antilock system, parking brake, master cylinder, calipers, squeaking, brake failure, regenerative braking.

    What Owners Say

    Master cylinder

"The brake pedal started to go all the way down. Replacing the master cylinder fixed the issue."

Anonymous, MD (2015 Toyota Sienna XLE 3.5-L V6)

"Backing out of my garage brakes go to the floor and I pump the brake pedal to slow down back-up speed. Pedal also some times goes pretty low at slow speeds. took it to dealer 3 times and it still seems dangerous to me so it was not fixed. checked master cylinder and individual break cylinders but still is iffy. No leaks detected in brake lines pressure checks."

    Anonymous A., AZ (2015 Toyota Sienna LE 3.5-L V6)
    Other brakes problem

"Had brake job done in 2023 and brake pedal felt softer than I liked. After brake fluid change the same mushy brake feel was still there. The brake fluid change cost $140 and nothing changed with the brake fell even though I was told it would feel more substantial"

Anonymous, MO (2015 Toyota Sienna XLE 3.5-L V6)
    Pulsation or vibration

"Rotors needed to be turned. Two pads replaced."

Anonymous, KS (2015 Toyota Sienna SE 3.5-L V6)

"The brakes were not a problem for the first 100,000 miles when I needed to replaced them. Off market brakes were horrendous. Both brakes and rotors. Had 4 sets, 2 on front and 2 on back which failed in less than 20,000 miles. Finally got originals and all are good now. Had struts replaced at 130,000, but due to living on a bad dirt road."

Anonymous, FL (2015 Toyota Sienna XLE 3.5-L V6)
    Rotors

"rotors were replaced along with the brakes 4 times. They failed in about 20000 miles, too. Horrible Chinese products. Finally got good ones and great mechanics. All fine, now."

Anonymous, FL (2015 Toyota Sienna XLE 3.5-L V6)

"Noticed it when braking with a full load."

Anonymous, OK (2015 Toyota Sienna SE 3.5-L V6)
    Squeaking

"Breaks squeak offer while backing up. Had them cleaned several times but still returned"

Anonymous, WI (2015 Toyota Sienna LE 3.5-L V6)

"Replaced brake pads after dealer said nothing was wrong"

Anonymous, SC (2015 Toyota Sienna LE 3.5-L V6)

    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

    What Owners Say

    Display screen freezes up

"After the van is warm, the audio system freezes up and no sound can be heard."

Anonymous, MN (2015 Toyota Sienna XLE 3.5-L V6)
    Display screen goes blank

"The entertainment system screen went blank, leaving me unable to use on-screen controls for the radio, satellite radio, phone pairing, etc. The radio still worked, but I could not switch to other audio sources."

    Anonymous A., CA (2015 Toyota Sienna LE 3.5-L V6)
    Phone pairing (e.g., Bluetooth)

"The Bluetooth connection has never been reliable. Weve tried multiple phones and they take a long time to connect. When they do connect many times the music is distorted or the notes are flat."

    Anonymous, (2015 Toyota Sienna XLE 3.5-L V6)

"Car pairs with phone when car is shut off and in garage. Then electronics stay on and unable to turn audio off and it runs down battery needing to be jump started. Missed appointments, very frustrating and inconvenient not to be able to depend on transportation. Dealer doesn't have an appointment to get in to research issue for a week or more. Also defeats purpose of hands free phone while driving if you have to turn off blue tooth function on phone and in car."

Anonymous, MI (2015 Toyota Sienna XLE 3.5-L V6)

"difficult to get other phones (*with new driver) to pair to bluetooth after the primary phone has already been paired."

    Anonymous A., DE (2015 Toyota Sienna LE 3.5-L V6)
    Radio

"Unable to turn off radio. Runs down battery. Car off and no key in car."

Anonymous, MI (2015 Toyota Sienna XLE 3.5-L V6)

"The radio will play audio when first started but if turned off and restarted the radio will not play. Radio will not play if car seems to be started from a warmer temperature."

Anonymous, TN (2015 Toyota Sienna LE 3.5-L V6)

    Paint And Trim

Paint (fading, chalking, peeling, or cracking), loose interior or exterior trim or moldings, rust.

    What Owners Say

    Loose exterior trim or moldings

"Window trim along bottom of exterior of sliding doors is coming off."

Anonymous, UT (2015 Toyota Sienna LE 3.5-L V6)

"The front bumper is so low and hits on everything. It also has really weak attachments so basically the bumper is taped on right now. It needs some new clips to hold it on. Also, the plastic undercarriage portion on the front has been replaced twice because it repeated got damaged by going over speed bumps or speed dips. It is super flimsy and doesn't hold up to regular wear and tear. I love walking past other Toyota Siennas and seeing that their front bumpers are also coming off. It seems to be a pretty common problem, but one that seeems to be specific to the Sienna. We haven't had this problem with other vehicles."

Anonymous, VA (2015 Toyota Sienna XLE 3.5-L V6)
    Loose interior trim or moldings

"The interior quality of workmanship is fair. There is fabric/trim of sorts sticking out around the seatbelts and the interior plastic parts are prone to scratches."

Anonymous, VA (2015 Toyota Sienna XLE 3.5-L V6)
Paint (fading, chalking, cracking, or peeling)

"Peeling paint on the front grille and front hood of the van."

Anonymous, TN (2015 Toyota Sienna LE 3.5-L V6)

    Steering And Suspension

Shocks or struts, ball joints, tie rods, wheel bearings, alignment, steering linkage (includes rack and pinion), power steering (pumps and hoses, leaks), wheel balance, springs or torsion bars, bushings, electronic or air suspension.

    What Owners Say

    Bushings

"front lower control arm bushings at 113, 600 mi front sway bar bushings at 96,400 mi"

Anonymous, MD (2015 Toyota Sienna XLE 3.5-L V6)
    Other steering/suspension problem

"I noticed a thumping sound when making turns. Brought it to a Toyota dealer who informed me the bushings were cracked/worn and would need to be replaced. Too estensive a repair for me to do on my own, and while I don't recall the cost, it was not cheap to fix. This car has rarely carried heavy loads, has only been driven on paved roads, and for most of it's life has been garaged, so this leads me to believe Toyota used inferior quality parts in this case."

Anonymous, PA (2015 Toyota Sienna LE 3.5-L V6)
    Shocks or struts

"Was in for service at my dealer and they suggested a complete replacement of front struts"

Anonymous, WI (2015 Toyota Sienna LE 3.5-L V6)

    Anonymous, GA (2015 Toyota Sienna 3.5-L V6)

"heater stopped working in January. Took to regular service shop and they advised we should take to Toyota deslership."

Anonymous, VA (2015 Toyota Sienna XLE 3.5-L V6)
    Other climate system problem

"Sometimes the AC works, sometimes not. Had it checked, freon was apparently low. I haven't used it enough since to know if that fixed it"

Anonymous, MA (2015 Toyota Sienna XLE 3.5-L V6)

Anonymous, OH (2015 Toyota Sienna XLE 3.5-L V6)

    Engine Minor

Accessory belts and pulleys, engine computer, engine mounts, engine knock or ping, fuel leaks, oil leaks.

    Engine Cooling

Radiator, cooling fan, water pump, thermostat, antifreeze leaks, overheating.

    What Owners Say

    Other electrical system problem

"It has a whole car electric problem that started the day we bought the van. First it would randomly unlock all the doors and say key detected in vehicle on the dash (this was alarming when parked in unsafe areas or when driving), later the sliding doors would sometimes not engage, now if we leave anything on (I.e. headlights, radio, heat) it drains the battery and the vehicle will not start. Its been a nightmare of a new vehicle that Toyota has taken years to address!"

    Anonymous, (2015 Toyota Sienna XLE 3.5-L V6)
