Anonymous, ON (2011 Toyota Tacoma X-Runner 4.0-L V6)"I heard a humming sound while I was driving, that grew gradually louder. One of my mechanics drove my Tacoma and determined that the hum was being produced by the failure of the front, driver's side wheel bearing. He replaced the bearing assembly, which quieted the humming for about a year and half. The humming returned. Another test drive by a different mechanic resulted in the same diagnosis. He replaced the bearing for a second time and the humming is quiet. I have not towed my trailer for a long time and neither mechanic mentioned that towing my trailer may have contributed to the bearing failure."

"Around 205,000 miles the power steering cylinder on the linkage blew a seal. It was leaking power steering fluid. We continued to drive it to the garage. The repair cost $1,300."
