The Reliability score is based on our latest subscriber survey of 2023 Toyota Venza owners. The owner comments describe problems respondents experienced with this vehicle.

    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

    What Owners Say

    Apple CarPlay

"It is not connecting, more a problem with Toyota software."

Anonymous, MS (2023 Toyota Venza Nightshade 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Display screen freezes up

"The problem started within a week after I got the Venza new from the dealer. The screen kept telling me that I needed to reset the password. The dealer worked on it a couple times without success, but my adult swim worked with the Venzas technology involved thru the screen system and solved the problem. The problem still occurs occasionally, but I have found that if I turn off the car and my cellphone for a few minutes and let the system reboot, since it is connected with my cellphone, then it corrects itself when I turn the phone back on."

Anonymous, CO (2023 Toyota Venza Nightshade 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Display screen goes blank

"The infotainment screen will cut on and off. The dealer doesnt know how to fix it. Ive seen that a lot of people online have had the same problem. So I might lose navigation in the middle of a trip. Thought there was a connection between car system and phone, but I have turned off phone and still have problem. Its working for now but dontt know when it will happen again. Its happened 3 times that could last several days - a month or 2 apart. I like the car other than that but that can be a big problem and Toyota needs to solve it."

Anonymous, VA (2023 Toyota Venza LE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"1week after getting the vehicle the screen died. They had to order a whole new display unit."

Anonymous A., IL (2023 Toyota Venza Limited 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    In-dash navigation system (GPS)

"The computer system is very complicated and not user friendly. Makes me not want to use the car"

Anonymous, MA (2023 Toyota Venza Limited 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Other in-car electronics problem

"The infotainment system would cycle a restart every 20 seconds. It had to go back to the dealership to get the update patched. Nothing we did at home would clear it."

Anonymous, OR (2023 Toyota Venza XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"Huge display panel, but displayed icons, music stations, etc, are too small on the display, leaving mostly a big bright white background. Could presumably be corrected by a software update, but havent be notified of any. Again, just an inherently poor design, lacks any majorly customizable features."

Anonymous, WA (2023 Toyota Venza Limited 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Phone pairing (e.g., Bluetooth)

"Continues to connect & disconnect or not connect at all."

Anonymous, MS (2023 Toyota Venza Nightshade 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"iPhone wouldnt pair. Map screen would be blank"

Anonymous, BC (2023 Toyota Venza Limited 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

    "Same as previously ststed"

Anonymous, VA (2023 Toyota Venza LE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Voice control commands

"Says it cannot understand me all the time"

Anonymous, MA (2023 Toyota Venza Limited 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

    Engine Electrical

Alternator, starter, hybrid battery replacement, hybrid battery related systems, regular battery, battery cables, engine harness, coil, ignition switch, electronic ignition, spark plugs and wires failure, auto stop/start.

    What Owners Say

    Heated or cooled seats

"The heated seats were anything but. I actually put a thermometer between me and the seat back, the seat barely rose above the ambient temp. Was told that's "normal". The "pleather" material in the seats and interior are so crappy, week 1 my dog's nail tore the material on the between-the-seat compartment while jumping from the back to the front seat. My 2010 leather seats still looked impeccable Had an older Venza whose heated seats were very warm even through a down coat."

Anonymous, WI (2023 Toyota Venza XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

    Brakes

Premature pad/rotor wear, pulsation or vibration, antilock system, parking brake, master cylinder, calipers, squeaking, brake failure, regenerative braking.

    What Owners Say

    Other brakes problem

"Door braking- requires too much pedal effort for stopping power. Inadequate braking design."

Anonymous, WA (2023 Toyota Venza Limited 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

Paint (fading, chalking, peeling, or cracking), loose interior or exterior trim or moldings, rust.

    What Owners Say

Paint (fading, chalking, cracking, or peeling)

"The paint was so soft ANY contact caused scratches dings and dents. It started the week I drove it off the lot"
