I told them vehicle had been brought to them for this problem and was told it was normal. They repaired it for no charge."

"I have an iPhone 8, and I use Apple CarPlay to connect my GPS maps to the screen in my VW Atlas. My phone BlueTooth always seems to stay paired with my Atlas. However, sometimes the screen will not open CarPlay, no matter how many times I try unplugging and replugging my phone into the USB receptacle, and/or re-starting my phone completely. Other times, sometimes - after CarPlay has been working just fine with the GPS from the phone - teh VW Atlas' screen just suddenly drops the CarPlay and says we need to plug in a device (as if it hadn't already been working that same day, just a few minutes before). And when that happens, I seldom am able to get it to re-connect until the next day. (I've changed USB cords LOTS of times, but they don't seem to be the issue.) Very frustrating - and scary - to have your map go out like that, esp when driving at night and/or on the interstate. I am 74 and need to be able to depend on this phone/vehicle relationship better than this."

"Received a red line in the display screen a month ago, this then turned into distorted/scrambled image when reverse back up camera is on. Happened a handful of times. Took it to the VW dealer to look at. They couldnt replicate it and suggested may need software update but warranty has ended and would be a cost to us. Currently tracking when the occurrences happen to see if outside temperature may be a contributing factor. Not resolved."

For example, we could drive it to the grocery story, come out to go home after shopping, and the Atlas would have no electricity. Honestly, the root cause was never truly determined. The dealer finally claimed it was an issue with the computer."

"Check engine light came on as well as eps light, dealership has currently had the car for 10+days and unable to diagnose problem after replacing the fuel injection pump... still waiting to hear if engine needs to be replaced. Would DEFINITELY NOT buy aVW again"
