Sleek and stylish, the CC is a "four-door coupe" version of the midsized Passat sedan, but it's more luxurious and fun to drive. We tested a Sport version, powered by VW's punchy turbocharged four-cylinder engine. With its agile handling and taut, yet supple ride, the CC delivers a more satisfying driving experience than the Passat and has a better-finished interior. The sleek styling compromises rear visibility and the rear is tight for even two adults.
Upgrades over time brought a more fuel-efficient automatic transmission and for 2013, the rear cabin was reconfigured to seat three instead of just two. USB ports were finally added for 2016, as well as keyless access, push-button start, lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control. Also, some trim lines got the MIB 2 infotainment system and App-Connect, which integrates Apple Car Play, Google Android Auto and MirrorLink. Top-level models also got adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, autonomous braking and lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist.
